Hillary Clinton Loaned Campaign $5 Million (Wizbang)

Poor little Hillary.

Howard Wolfson, Hillary Clinton's communications director, confirms:
"Late last month Senator Clinton loaned her campaign $5 million.The loan illustrates Sen. Clinton's commitment to this effort and to ensuring that our campaign has the resources it needs to compete and win across this nation. We have had one of our best fundraising efforts ever on the web today and our Super Tuesday victories will only help in bringing more support for her candidacy."

Color me cynical when I say that I think is just a ruse by Clinton to raise more money from contributors. Look I had to loan my campaign money, help me!

I think candidates spending millions of their own money to be President is nutty. All in order to get a low paying high stress job where you're lucky people don't take shots at you. If I had five million dollars to get one job in the whole world, I'd like to have this man's job. If you were guessing the job is related to golf, you're right.

No reason to wonder: she is putting her money where her mouth is. As one who makes a living writing books, giving speeches and appearing on television, she is literally betting her means of living and source of considerable income on her "big mouth".

Think about it this way: If Hillary! wins the election AND wins re-election, she will only earn $3.2 million in salary for those 8 years. IF she's sticking $5 mil of her own money into the campaign, she has a plan to rack up a little extra dough while she is in office. Maybe she will hold a bake sale or get a paper route.

Billary got an $8 Million book advance for her memoirs after Bill's Presidency. It'll be even more after her Presidency as first woman president (assuming she actually wins)

Speaking engagement, books, even without spending illegally obtained monies or campaign funds, it can be very profitable to have been the President.

This is a loan, I wonder at what interest? It is money as Bill says that comes from what "they have saved" in the past 5 years (by living frugally?). They are rumored to be worth 10 to 50 million. The Clintons, when they get back in the White House as they intend, can raise funds, 'buyers for access' style once again, to pay it back directly into their pockets.
