No not Eliot Spitzer, his replacement Gov. David Paterson. Hoping to preemptively put to bed rumors floating around the statehouse in Albany, Gov. Paterson and his wife confessed their past marital infidelities to The New York Daily News:
In a stunning revelation, both Paterson, 53, and his wife, Michelle, 46, acknowledged in a joint interview they each had intimate relationships with others during a rocky period in their marriage several years ago.In the course of several interviews in the past few days, Paterson said he maintained a relationship for two or three years with "a woman other than my wife," beginning in 1999.
As part of that relationship, Paterson said, he and the other woman sometimes stayed at an upper West Side hotel - the Days Inn at Broadway and W. 94th St.
The new governor sure has a soft spot for that Days Inn. As part of his marriage counseling he and his wife repaired to that same Days Inn to introduce "new and exciting things" into their relationship.

The family values of the liberals is non existant. IF it were a republican, we as a party would have forced him to resign or shun him until he does. ww

All he could afford was Days Inn after Spitzer spent $5500 a night for call girls!

Actually, it is very smart of him to stay at a Days' Inn. There'll be no attendant questions about who really paid for his stay, which would be inevitable if he stayed at a place like The Pierre, Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton Battery Park.
Think about it: if Bernard Kerik had chosen to hole up with hole up with Judith Reagan at the Days' Inn instead of a privately-funded crash pad for recovery workers at the nearby WTC site, he'd be Homeland Security Chief.

Maybe the Days Inn is more Handicap accessible/freindly? Possibly they allow Seeing-Eye dogs? Guess the Days Inn would prevent him from being noticed by other New York politicians?

If you are blind, what's the point of cheating on your wife? It's not like you can tell if she's any hotter. It's like when people say the penguins and swans mate for life. Well, duh, when it comes to penguins and swans is there any difference? They all look the same.

What do you people think about Gingrich divorcing his wife while she was hospitalized with cancer so that he could get with his mistress? Or Giuliani's infidelities?
People cheat on their husbands and wives. File next to bears shitting in the woods.

matthew, not that it's overly relevant, but I have a healthy dose of contempt for Gingrich over that. And I don't care about Giuliani's or Paterson's affairs.
Spitzer, on the other hand, broke several laws as part of his misdeeds. Not just the prostitution ones (which he himself rigorously enforced), but financial laws and the Mann Act. He NEEDS to be pounded -- hard -- for those.
And before anyone brings up Bill Clinton, I'll pre-empt that one: I don't despise him for the affair, but for 1) letting it interfere with his official duties; 2) doing it IN THE OVAL OFFICE; and 3) lying about it under oath to obstruct justice and save his ass.
The finger-wagging "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" lie is also annoying, but I can live with that.

What's the point of cheating on Your wife if You can see?
Moreover, why are You married in the first place if You want to screw around? Just do it! without a fake committment to anyone and stop hurting people.

This guy is an unusually smart politician. Not only does he pre-empt those rumors, not only does he do at the (probable) peak of his popularity but he dumps this news out when there is SO MUCH OTHER STUFF (Obama/Wright, Economic Turmoil) going on that he doesn't even get a lot of attention in the media.
