Hillary Clinton compares herself to Rocky Balboa.
Addressing a meeting of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Tuesday, the former first lady and New York senator said that she, like Rocky, wasn't a quitter.Rocky wasn't a quitter. However....Recalling a famous scene on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Clinton said that ending her presidential campaign now would be as if "Rocky Balboa had gotten halfway up those art museum steps and said, 'Well, I guess that's about far enough.'"
"Let me tell you something, when it comes to finishing a fight, Rocky and I have a lot in common. I never quit. I never give up. And neither do the American people," Clinton said.
He lost the fight to Apollo Creed if narrowly(It was a split decision)
Dr. Steven Taylor at Poliblog writes-
He fights to the very end, never quits (which is her point) BUT at the end he almost wins, but still loses.1 That might be an accurate description of this year's race for the Democratic nomination, but not the narrative that Clinton should want to play out.I think Mrs. Clinton needs a different Pennsylvania movie. How about The Young Philadelphians? Any other movie suggestions for Hillary?Indeed, not only is there the losing issue, but moreover, Rocky was beaten by a black man.
Update- One of Dr. Taylor's comments comes up with the following.
Worse-the black man lies when he says "ain't gonna be no rematch" & then the white man (Hillary in this case) lies right back: "Don't want one." Greed & pride make for at least one rematch.

Am I the only one who finds Clinton's slogans corny? Every time she opens her mouth, I am reminded what an old fogey she is. And mind you, I am just a few years younger than she is.

Barack Obama should challenge her to a race up the Art Museum steps. She wouldn't look much like Rocky then.

God adrian is pathetic. Can never address a topic at hand, it's very telling. Anyway, Stallone endorses McCain which makes this even funnier.

Don't you just hate it when Hillary listens to Bill and uses his words to make her point? This Rocky analogy is a joke. Just like Bosnia; just like saying that Obama has been publicly stating that she should drop out of the race(which he hasn't said), and just like everything else she (they) tries to spin.
We put up with the Clinton spin machine in the 90s, because the country was on the right track. We overlooked the lies, innuendos, stories and flubs then. After eight years of Dubya, America doesn't have the stomach for politics "Clinton style." That's one spin cycle too many!

Hillary just misses the mark when she tries to be clever. Everytime she comes off as fake and corny. I guess that's because she's fake. It's hard to go against your true nature and personality.
She is a fighter, can't deny that, but unlike "rocky" she fights dirty!!!!
