Lately, there have been some undercurrents of nervousness with Democrats that Obama in his new emphasis that he is mainstream American, and not a wide-eyed radical, may be abandoning some of his liberal positions. I shared some of those concerns...

Government's role regulating free speech needs to be as limited as possible. The freedom allowed under the 1st Amendment isn't always attractive, yet to limit free expression is always the worst possible option.

I think I get the last item... (Below threshold)1. Posted by Jim Addison | April 3, 2008 12:53 AM | Score: 0 (0 votes cast)
I think I get the last item. You have to think like a liberal to get it, so possible side effects include severe headaches, weakened knees, spinal deterioration, and a distinct yellowing streak along the length of the back - but it's for science:
Naturally, higher taxes in LA don't directly affect "global warming" one way or the other. However, by saying the higher taxes are "for" global warming makes them feel as if they are doing something about it. As we already understand, to liberals it is far more important to feel you are doing something than to actually do it. Perception becomes reality, and Voila! - any "climate change" may remain unchanged, but doggone it, don't ya feel better already?

"The editors at The Independent offer photographic proof! Too bad the picture was made in 2005."
You're right. This last November was the 19th annual coat drive. Which must mean then that we've been in a depression for 19 years now and didn't know it :)
At least they didn't lie about it being the 17th annual drive. I suppose it takes their minds off their own poor and disadvantaged by pointing out ours.

I'd heard pundits last week say it was due to too-much parsing of words by the "far right".
So, since Queen Media have decided this, so shall it be.
