Boy howdy, ain't this campaign fun?
The crap never stops flying, and it always manages to land on those most deserving of a faceful of crap.
This time, it's Hillary Clinton. She doesn't talk about it much, but her experience in matters presidential extends well before her inauguration as First Lady and Co-President on January 20, 1993. Almost exactly 20 years before that, she was on the House staff that was preparing the impeachment of President Richard Nixon.
And her old boss from those days recalls her and her then-colleagues (Bernard Nussbaum and John Doar). He reports that the three of them attempted to subvert Constitutional rights and clear orders from their nominal bosses in their attempt to railroad Nixon into a completely unfair Impeachment hearing.
Of course, Nixon deserved to be impeached, but even he should have had a fair trial. That was too much to expect from the young Hillary Rodham, who wanted Nixon denied access to counsel and the Committee denied power to do any of its own investigating. She seemed to be on the "hang 'em first" persuasion on the matter.
Now, if in 2004, George W. Bush's Texas Air National Guard service from the early 1970's was fair game, even with the alleged main accuser long dead, how the hell is Hillary Clinton's service in the would-be impeachment of President Nixon not worthy of discussion and investigation? Especially in light of the fact that her boss at the time isn't speaking from beyond the grave with a faked memo, but is alive and has been telling this story to anyone who will listen for almost a decade, at least?
There has to be at least one honest journalist out there who can dig through the records and find out if Hillary's old boss, Jerry Zeifman, is telling the truth.
And we don't have to rely on the "fake, but accurate" meme this time around.

Actually Mary Mapes is busy this month condemning the Los Angeles Times for running a story about the Tupac Shakur murders that was based on crudely forged documents.
Yes, the irony was reaching Stage 3 levels.

Zeifman is a nutter. Grade A.
You should have done a little research before you posted.
I thought we were supposed to be better than Gunga and Mary.
There's plenty to trash Hillary with that is better documented than this.
You might want to go to Zeifman's web site and look around.

Kobe, I just called for an investigation. I didn't say it was true, just that at this point, it was a hell of a lot more convincing than the fake Bush/Texas Air National Guard stories were when CBS ran with them.

Just because someone is nutty doesn't mean their story might not be true.
However, I recommend waiting until AFTER the convention to get started on this stuff.

I would find nothing that came out of Zeifman's mouth either surprising or believable.
He makes Kucinich look mainstream.

Tell me, Jay, how many people do you believe the Clintons had murdered?

From a John Dean review of Zeifman's book "Without Honor":
John Dean: The House Judiciary Committee's recommendation in 1974 that Nixon
be impeached was nearly thwarted by a sham congressional inquiry, according to this blistering expose. Zeifman was chief counsel to the committee during the impeachment inquiry... He charges that John Doar, special counsel to the inquiry, intentionally orchestrated a charade because he feared that a thorough investigation of the Nixon administration's government-sponsored crimes would let out of the bag Kennedy- era sanctioned murders carried out in the name of national security...
Like I said, he's a nutter.
