Shut up Bill

Maybe that's what Senator Clinton said to her husband after his appearance on Meet the Press today.

FMR. PRES. BILL CLINTON: There was a lot of fulminating because Hillary one time late at night when she was exhausted misstated and immediately apologized for it, what happened to her in Bosnia in 1995. Did y'all see all that? Oh, they blew it up.

And you would have thought, you know, that she'd robbed a bank the way they all carried on about this. And some of them, when they're 60, they'll forget something when they're tired at 11:00 at night.

Dr. Taylor at Poliblog writes-

Ok, not only is President Clinton presenting a false version of events but the first thing that came to mind to me was the 3AM ad. I thought that a key rhetorical component of the Clinton campaign is that Hillary is ready, at any moment, to answer the phone and make the tough decisions.
No just only at 3 a.m. She doesn't do so well around 11 p.m. Dr. Taylor adds
Now we are to understand that at 60 years of age she is prone to mistakes when she is tired?
So why would the American public want to elect an error prone old lady President? We must take the former President's statement through to its logical conclusion.

The 2008 Presidential campaign if its good for anything, its laughs. Maybe Bill Clinton can bring up Obama's kindergarten record again.

Everyone is filled with righteous indignation at Sen. Clinton's description of her landing in Tusla, Bosnia. But no one blinked an eye when Obama wove the tale about how his parents fell in love at the civil rights march in Selma, Alabama, and conceived him (even though at the time of the march, he was FOUR years old and his father had already split), a lie that he told several times, including in his book.

How is Clinton's Tusla story any worse than Obama's Selma story? Both candidates were trying to create a fable about their past to enhance his/her mystique.

In fact, Clinton's story has more bearing on the truth, since the Bosnian president (at the time) and 2 White House staffers who were with her on that flight have come forward to say that their descent was very dangerous, they had been told to take last minute precautions, and there were snipers in the surrounding hills. Whereas Obama's story may be best compared with the fake Holocaust memoir by the Belgian author Misha Defonseca, who said at times "it was difficult for me to tell the difference between what was reality and what was my interior universe."
N.B. the fighting and rapes in Bosnia didn't stop on the day the Dayton Accords were signed. It was a war zone for many years after.

Bill is just one of many problems in the poorly managed Hillary campaign. All yhe ineptness has only given Obama a clear opening despite a few missteps of his own.

She apologized for it? Can someone point me to that apology?

That's the first time I've heard that. And actually, it's just like Hillary's story of who she was named after.

The great thing in reading the MTP transcript is how Russert kept piling it on-he had Carville stammering and stumbling in his response. Note to Hillary-don't publicly tear apart a member of the press just because they asked you to answer a question.
