1. I hope that this squashes his VP chances. Permanently. And removes him from future consideration, too.
2. I truly don't understand how he could have that this would be perceived as humorous in any way. Can anyone explain any context that this could be considered funny?

Thank God Huckster made such an idiotic statement.
I don't want him anywhere near the White House.
This should nix any hope he has for VP.

You know if this is a joke about killing your political opponent, Barack Obama would be the only man I know to die from someone pointing a gun at him. The joke was meant to imply that Obama was nervous around Guns. It came off poorly and it was done on the spur of the moment and Huckabee apologize (apparently for some reason, you didn't find this worth mentioning.)

Huckabee has stated numerous times he does not want the VP nomination. He would never accept it because it is a lose-lose proposition. He will continue to build his conservative coalition and make a much stronger run for the presidency in 2012. After 4 years of liberalism in the White House, our country will be ready for a hard turn to the right.

I cannot believe that the media is making such a big deal about this. To me, it was good humor and if anyone felt hurt or thought that is was inappropriate, then it is their own problem. I really thought it was a great comment (joke) and I got a good laugh from it.
If Obama didn't like it, then he has a bigger problem than just lacking the talent, skills, knowledge or experience to become our President.

Off the cuff, perhaps, but Huckabee has to realize that this is the kind of crap that will come back to haunt him in 2012.
