In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way. Franklin D. Roosevelt

  • Live From Hell (humor) Karl Rove's 2008 Election Update. (Via The Nose on Your Face)

  • The absolutely dumbest Wall Street Journal story. Ever. Really. What the heck is the matter with Thomas Frank? The new columnist at the Wall Street Journal--and author of the book What's the Matter With Kansas?--wrote a commentary earlier this week, "Our Great Economic U-Turn," that basically said the economic boom of the past quarter century was a "man-made catastrophe." (It's an opinion seemingly shared by Barack Obama if you listen to his speeches.) (Via US News)

  • UN says world teetering on the brink of ruin Whatever. (Via Suitably Flip)

  • Crude Mistake Energy: With the price of oil spiking above $127 a barrel, the search for scapegoats has begun. Some point to the Saudis, OPEC's No. 1 producer. Others blame the oil companies. We have a better candidate: Congress. (Via IBD)

  • Democrats still block oil exploration Despite their constant whining over gas prices and U.S. dependency on foreign oil, democrats are continuing to oppose policies which would alleviate the severity of both problems. (Via Conservative-Compendium.)

  • US soldier refuses to serve in illegal Iraq war Breitbart finds its poor white trash soldier story in Matthis Chiroux. "I was from a poor, white family from the south, and I did badly in school," the now 24-year-old told AFP. "I was 'filet mignon' for recruiters. They started phoning me when I was in 10th grade," or around 16 years old, he added. Good grief! He wasn't singled out because someone somewhere said "HEY! That kid looks like a poor, uneducated sucker! Let's con him into signing up.!" (Via Southern Appeal)

  • This is why Republicans voted present The Democrats attempted to make the wealthy pay a new tax, a "patriot premium," Democrats argued that it was time for wealthy Americans to share in the sacrifice that troops are making in Iraq. Because it just wasn't fair for poor uneducated people like Matthis Chiroux in the above link to have to serve while their rich counterparts feast on filet mignon adn go to ivy league schools. (Via Liberty Pundit)

  • Fred is back baby! Back to blogging that is. Townhall signed him up and he's going to be writing regular posts. If we are going to have to suffer the indignities of a McCain presidency, or worse . . . , Fred's crisp, clear, conservative message may inspire the faithful just when we need it most. (Via Patriot Room)

  • So naturally I have to link Fred's first post. Spending some time on the campaign trail has confirmed a couple of thoughts I've had before I entered the Republican primary race. Read the article. (Via Town Hall)

Formerly tolerant Holland is well on its way to becoming a police state, at the behest of its Islamic conquerors. (Via Moon Battery)

  • She's Tan-o-rexic Since the age of 14 she has visited sunbeds at least four times a week, to ensure that her golden glow never fades. But it wasn't until she became pregnant that Sarah-Jane Breach realised she was addicted to tanning. The mother-to-be, 18, says she cannot give it up despite knowing that sunbeds could harm her unborn child. (Via Jammie Wearing Fool)

Apparently he re-enlisted in the military during this illegal war too. The way things look for him right now, he's gonna be prison fodder instead of filet mignon.

Melissa, I'd consider editing your links.

I mean, I put more effort into a comment than most of your links put into their posts.

When Kevin tells me he has a problem with the way I do this HE will be the person *I* listen to.

If you want rambling thesis papers beating the same piece of information into a greasy spot on the ground then I'm not your gal.
