Because it just wasn't fair for poor uneducated people like Matthis Chiroux in the above link to have to serve while their rich counterparts feast on filet mignon adn go to ivy league schools. I was a poor white boy and they conned me into joining the military. After 'six' years I turned traitor. Just a few words he left out. Sounds like he's still dumber than a box of rocks.
