The Shape Of Things To Come

I have seen the future, and it is green.

A particularly bloody shade of green.

In Lebanon, a terrorist organization has formed a state within a state. It has demonstrated that it has control over not just actual physical territory, but that it can cow the legitimate government into allowing it near carte blanche to set up its own infrastructure and run its own foreign policy (consisting mainly of accepting weapons from other nations and waging war against one nation in particular) without fear of interference from that government. More importantly, it can do so while the international community will talk loudly (including passing a UN Security Council resolution calling for that -- and all other "militias" -- in Lebanon to be disarmed), but will do absolutely nothing to back that up. Indeed, we all know just what will happen if Israel were to decide that since the terms that ended its brief war in Lebanon with Hezbollah aren't being applied at all on its enemies, they don't apply to her as well -- international condemnation and strong pressure to back off and honor its obligations under that very same Resolution 1701.

In Holland, "creeping shariah" has gotten to the point where blasphemy against Islam is now being enforced by the government. A cartoonist has been arrested -- and his anonymity essentially lost -- for drawing cartoons that some Muslims found offensive. Apparently "Islam" is not just a religion, not just a political ideology, but now a race, too, because they're prosecuting him under laws that forbid "racial discrimination."

In Canada, the so-called "Human Rights Commissions" have become the latest venue for offended Muslims to use the government to enforce their religious strictures. One magazine had the temerity to print the infamous Mohammed cartoons, and has been hauled before this tribunal to answer for their offense. Indeed, as I understand it, the majority of cases brought before these Commissions are by aggrieved Muslims who, when their complaint is distilled down to their essences, are asking the government to enforce Muslim laws and strictures on non-Muslims -- in the name of "respect" and "tolerance" and "non-discrimination."

In London, radical Muslims can drive through the streets shouting sedition over loudspeakers, and when the police ask them politely -- almost deferentially -- for a moment of their time to discuss their behavior, they will surround and intimidate the police into leaving them alone to continue.

I've looked around a bit for some contrary indicators, that Islam is finally starting to undergo its own "reformation," that Muslims are learning to reconcile their faith with the modern world and how to get along with their kafir neighbors.

If there are any such major movements going on, I ain't seeing them.

Remember, "Islam" does NOT mean "peace." It means "submission." All must submit to Islam, or pay the price.

And, eventually, that price is to be paid in blood.

It's happening quicker than can be imagined. And it is staggering when one considers the relatively short span of time since Islamic extremists flew planes into WTC.

But, hope is on the way. Hussein Obama will talk to them. Thank God - er - Allah.

Sharia, when it comes, will have a far more adverse impact on the traditional constituencies of the Democratic Left (blacks, gays, Jews, and big labor) than it will on the consituencies of the Republican Right.

Therefore - I urge my brethern to do what the R's did in the Senate last week. When it comes to wars against Islam (Iraq, Iran, Palestine) - your vote should be "present."

Let the Left fight its wars with the blood of its own children. Why must we continue to spill ours?

Shukri:

Holland arresting the cartoonist is more to do with hate speech laws than advocating for Muslims. After all, anti-Semitic cartoons have criminal punishment so why anything less for other groups?

Muslims get along fine with non-Muslims so long as we aren't invaded/occupied/bombed/shot etc.

Also, why do you think that Islam is not modern just because Islamic law punishes rapists and murderers with execution?

Finally, Islam means both peace and submission to God. It does not mean submission to human beings.

Kind regards,
Shukri

Uh. Because they don't?

It does not mean submission to human beings.

Unless they're God's representative.

Islam has had it's reformation. What we're seeing is the result of that.

All you have to do is be offended sufficiently about whatever you want and a civil society will accomodate you.

You know how to boil a frog?

But it only punishes rapists if 2 (or is it 4?) Muslim men testify that they witnessed the crime. On top of that, it also punishes the rape victim for the crime of being assaulted. Yep, sounds real modern to me.
