I Was Against Obama Before I Ever Heard Of Him

I recently made an astonishing discovery: long before I even heard the name "Barack Obama," I was against him. And it's only recently that I've discovered this odd little truth.

When Obama ran for his Senate seat, he faced (at first) a Republican by the name of Jack Ryan. (No known connection to the Tom Clancy protagonist.) Mr. Ryan was doing pretty darned good in the polls until the Chicago media started prying into his personal life -- to wit, his sealed divorce and custody records.

Mr. Ryan had been married to actress Jeri Ryan, of "Star Trek: Voyager" fame, where she played geek fantasy "Seven of Nine." (Personally, I never found her character that attractive; I was more drawn to Deep Space Nine's Nana Visitor and Terry Farrell.) And their divorce, as are so many, was not pleasant and involved many allegations of unpleasant personal behavior. When these accounts became public, Mr. Ryan withdrew from the race late in the campaign. That left the Republicans high and dry, and they ended up "importing" Alan Keyes to take his place -- and Keyes lost decisively to the Democratic nominee, a state senator named Barack Obama.

I wrote about the Ryan mess without ever mentioning his opponent, or how another opponent of Obama's had also had his divorce records unsealed at the behest of the press and also withdrew from the race, yielding Obama an easy victory. Hell, at the time I didn't even know Ryan's political affiliation, and didn't care.

Then there's the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN. This group of swine have been running "voter registration drives" across the country for years now, and every now and then another of their "volunteers" gets busted for fraudulently registering people. It's happened with such regularity that my credibility has been strained, and I would dearly love to see a RICO investigation into their activities -- and I've said as much on several occasions.

Well, it turns out that Barack Obama has a long, long history of working with ACORN. Naturally, he wasn't involved in the voter-fraud activities -- he appears to have been more involved in the mob-rule bullying tactics that ACORN is also famous for.

I have to admit, this caught me off-guard. I'd never put it together, but it seems that Barack Obama has managed to alienate me before I ever heard of him.

That's an impressive feat. And the next time you see or hear Senator Obama speak, keep in mind that behind the words is the guy who spent a good chunk of time working with the mob-inciting, vote-rigging thugs of ACORN and benefited politically -- twice! -- when the media covering his race suddenly grew fascinated with the sealed divorce records of his opponents. Especially keep that in mind when you see how the press fawns over him.

There's another side of Barack Obama besides the hopey changeful message -- and it's not a very pretty one.

Allegations of election fraud

On September 7, 2004, a Columbus, Ohio grand jury indicted ACORN employee and felony parolee Kevin Eugene Dooley for election fraud. The indictment charges Dooley forged a signature to a voter registration form.[18]

In 2004, the Wisconsin Election Commission reported that between 4600 and 5300 more ballots were cast than voters who can be accounted for in Wisconsin (a state in which Democrat John Kerry defeated President Bush). The report states: "18 persons were sworn in as Deputy registrars in 2004 that were convicted felons and under Department of Correction Supervision. Of the 15 felons that listed a sponsoring organization, eight named ACORN as their sponsoring agency.".[19]

During the 2004 election, an ACORN member named Mac Stuart was working as a coordinator for minority voter outreach for ACORN's voter registration effort in Miami-Dade County. Stuart reported seeing ACORN workers copying voter registration forms, which is illegal under Florida law, and segregating voter registration forms for Republicans that were not subsequently turned into the County. After Stuart reported these irregularities to the election officials, ACORN fired him. Stuart filed suit against ACORN in May, 2005 for wrongful termination. ACORN countersued for defamation. Stuart's lawsuit was dismissed on the grounds that he couldn't prove he was terminated for reporting the allegations of fraud to the authorities.[20]

In August 2004 a lawsuit was filed in Albuquerque alleging that New Mexico Secretary of State Rebecca Vigil-Giron improperly exempted individuals who registered to vote through canvassers from requirements that some new registrants submit ID at polling places.[21] In a court case, ACORN director Matt Henderson invoked his Fifth Amendment rights when asked if his group made illegal copies of voter registration cards before submitting them. The Albuquerque Tribune claims he told them this was done.[21]

In January 2005 two ex-ACORN workers were convicted in Denver of perjury for submitting false voter registrations.[22] Some other investigations responding to fraud allegations ended in Colorado, Wisconsin,[20] ACORN said in a press release that it is in large part responsible in these individuals being caught, and has cooperated and publicly supported efforts to look into the validity of the allegations.[23]

ACORN was investigated in 2006 for submitting false voter registrations in St. Louis, Missouri. 1,492 fraudulent voter registrations were identified, some from the dead and others for underage voters who were not aware they had been registered by ACORN.[24]

ACORN was investigated in 2007 by King County, Washington for filing false registrations. An elections department employee called 400 phone numbers that were provided on the cards from a sample of those turned in by ACORN. Of the 400 phone numbers, only two were good, and both people denied filling out voter registration cards. The registrations were turned in after the deadline to register and the registrations were not processed for the 2006 election.[25] On July 26, 2007, felony charges were filed against seven ACORN employees including supervisors for filing 1762 false registrations.[26]

in any effort at voter registration (and in ballot initiatives, et al.) there will be errors and fraud. the errors are just that, errors. the fraud is almost always (as in this case) perpetrated by the signatories. ACORN can, and should, not be held accountable for the actions of persons who sign legal documents made available to them (i.e. voter registration documents and forms). it is the responsibility of the signator to be truthful, not the responsibility of ACORN. furthermore, it is the responsibility of the attendant state agency to account for the truthfulness and validity of any attestation and not of ACORN. for you to proclaim otherwise is facetious.

He is young, good looking and articulate, which apparently won him the Senate nomination, but running against Alan Keyes was almost a bye - a lot of Republicans wouldn't vote for Keyes. He's now been in the US Senate about 2 years, has not sponsored any major legislation, has voted the liberal line more consistently than any other Senator and his subcommittee on Afghanistan hasn't even held a hearing. He's about as qualified to be President as I am to be Pope.

"I really believe that she just always thought, 'This is mine! I'm Bill's wife, I'm white, and this is mine! I just gotta get up and step into the plate.' And then out of nowhere came, 'Hey, I'm Barack Obama,' and she said, 'Oh, damn! Where did you come from? I'm white! I'm entitled! There's a black man stealing my show! Important as these questions of funding and partisanship are, the larger point is that Obama's ties to Acorn -- arguably the most politically radical large-scale activist group in the country -- are wide, deep, and longstanding. If Acorn is adept at creating a non-partisan, inside-game veneer for what is in fact an intensely radical, leftist, and politically partisan reality, so is Obama himself.

The way the Democrat's lawyers descended on Florida in 2000, tossing out most of the military absentee ballots, I don't think you've got much room to talk about Republicans. I was in the AF Reserve at the time, and Gore didn't earn any points at all for this garbage.

http://www.aim.org/media-monitor/military-absentee-ballot-flap/

In the counting of the ballots in Florida, the handling of the absentee ballots from military personnel overseas became a critical issue because it might well determine whether Al Gore or George W. Bush would be our next president. We were pleased to see that in this case the liberal as well as the conservative media reported that the Democrats had launched a concerted effort to get as many of these ballots as possible thrown out. . Senator Lieberman, who appeared on five Sunday talk shows on November 19th was pressed to explain this. The Democrats were insisting that hand counting the ballots in four Democratic counties was required to insure that no ballots were rejected on technicalities if the intention of the voter was clear, but at the time they were insisting that ballots sent by servicemen overseas should be rejected if they lacked a postmark. Lieberman, who is supposed to be the moral pillar of the Democrats, waffled. He agreed that there should be no discrimination against military personnel, but he said it was not up to him to decide what to do about it. . Two days later, the Washington Times reported in a front-page story that in Duvall County, Democrats battled for 19 hours to maximize the rejection of military absentee ballots and succeeded in disqualifying ten percent of them. That included one where a Navy officer had written on the envelope that he could not get it postmarked on the ship he was on. That cost Bush 30 or 40 votes that he would need to offset the votes Gore is picking up in the hand counts being conducted to determine the intentions of the voters. . Altogether election officials rejected 1,527 of the military ballots according to an unofficial Associated Press survey. That was forty-one percent of the total received. The ballots that were counted gave Bush a net gain of 630 votes, and if all had been counted another 400 might have been added. The Democratic attorney general of Florida, Gore's campaign chairman for Florida, said military ballots should not be thrown out just because they lacked a postmark, but the New York Times reported that this may have had more to do with cutting Democratic losses in the public relations war than with insuring a fair count.
So you can do divinations on hanging chads and dimples to determine a vote, but you can't accept one that couldn't be postmarked but made it through the military mail system anyway. Can't say you picked up much support from the military on that, one, JFO.

Yeah. I get it. It's a valid vote as long as it's for a DEMOCRAT. But if there's a chance it's for a Republican? THROW THE DAMN THING OUT!

I think the think that is missing here is that this is not historical racism that is being decried.

This is Neo-Multiculturalism. The meme is that all cultures are equally wonderful. From the dictatorial rule in the former Burma to the warlords in Africa. Its all good.

But, there is one exception. Western Culture and specificially White American Culture needs to be held in contempt. They exploited all the other races culture to gain advantage. There's no other explanation because all are equal. Those buckets of money all the whites still get handed down generation to generation from the slave era profits are just wrong. And its time for you to give that money back.

It is the proverbial marxist 'exploitation of the worker' recast to race & culture. And its not a coincidence.
