That he's going to her indicates a position of weakness. What's that all about? He's the nominee, not her. From MSNBC:
Hillary Rodham Clinton met late Thursday with Barack Obama, a day after saying she would end her quest for the Democratic nomination and endorse the Illinois senator.A senior Obama campaign official confirmed to NBC News that Obama delayed his departure from Washington Thursday night to meet with Clinton at her home here.
Earlier, Clinton had disavowed efforts by some supporters who have urged Obama to choose her as his running mate.
"She is not seeking the vice presidency, and no one speaks for her but her," communications director Howard Wolfson said. "The choice here is Senator Obama's and his alone."
Clinton was planning an event in Washington Saturday to thank supporters and urge them to back Obama's candidacy. But as she was bowing out of the race, supporters in Congress and elsewhere were ramping up a campaign to pressure him to put her on the ticket in the No. 2 spot.
What are they discussing that had to be addressed in person and not over the phone? Hmmm. Is he being a gentleman and telling her in person that she's not his choice for VP? If so, he better be prepared for a flying lamp. Or will he show how much of a naive sucker he really is and offer her the VP slot after all, even though she's "disavowed" it?
I don't buy that line by the way. Hillary Clinton does not disavow access to power.

Update II: Michelle Malkin is also wondering if there were some vice presidential discussions going on last night and compares their possible union to that in The War of the Roses.

Hillary is not stupid. She knows Barry's an empty suit and is banking on his administration tanking if he somehow got elected President. Being VP would tie her to a failed leader. Kind of hard for her to jump into the #1 slot in 2012, supposing that American's would put up with a Dimocrat after a disasterous Dim administration (remember Jimmy?). Hillary may get her campaign debts paid off in return for support. For the Clinton's it's all about POWER and/or MONEY. I seriously doubt she wants the job once described as "not being worth a bucket of spit".

It was Senator Diane Fienstein's (D-CA) home, wasn't it?
Simple, you want a prayer in California with its big basket of electoral votes, then you better do what Hillary wants or with her nearly half of the delegate count and the popular vote, she'll bring you a boatload of grief.

SPQR, I agree with you. I think she has her sights now on being the Senate Majority Leader and let's face it, even she would be a gazillion times better than Hapless Harry Reid.

Call me naive, but couldn't it have just been a one on one courtesy visit to congratulate her on her efforts and ask if she will support him?

Oyster,
You may be right, but would he really do that in person? Usually that's done in a phone call.
Then again, the last time he called her, to congratulate her on her win in South Dakota, he got her voicemail...twice.
I may be overreacting, but when the Clintons are involved, my gut tells me nothing minor or innocent is going on.

This may sound cynical, but I think this is, at the end of the day, about money. Obama can easily get Hill's $36mm out of pocket campaign expenses taken care of.
Hillary is posturing around a myriad of scenarios (VEEP, SCOTUS, and Senate Leader etc) to accomplish one thing: getting some cash back. Make that getting some of WJC's cash back.

It's pretty simple. She told him he WILL put her on the ticket, or else she'll pass along her oppo research to McCain, including whatever bombshell she decided to hold back on because the blowback would be too stong - 'whitey' video, whatever.
Mark my words, it'll be Obama/Clinton.
