This week, I put my air conditioners in.
I have yet to put away my electric heaters.
It's currently about fifty degrees outside.
This weekend, it's supposed to hit the 90's.
Yup, must be June in New Hampshire.

One of the many issues on which John McCain is hiding his plans from the American people in is regards to Social Security. It's an important issue to a lot of people.... a lot of Americans are counting on Social Security being there for them when they retire.

Seems that the McCain campaign folks never bothered to license the music they were illegally exploiting for free featuring in the videos. Updated and Bumped: They did it again - the second time in two weeks. Apparently copyright laws are among the laws easily ignored by the McCain camp. Third Update: They did it again and now they're being sued.

It's 90 degrees here in Ohio and we hate it.
Please tell us it'll be 70 at the cottage we rent in Maine for July.

This is not global warming, either. It's called SUMMERTIME! Here in the Washington, D.C. area it is expected to slither close to 100 degrees in the next few days. I don't know the name of the saint who invented air conditioning, I only know that he is high on my list of personal heroes!
As to the "greatest generation" - those were my aunts, uncles and some cousins (my mother was the baby of 12 kids and had nephews older than her). They were magnificent human beings, one and all, and their sacrifices and efforts have always left me awestruck and grateful.

J.,
Since we live on approximately the same latitude (or close to it), you have my sympathy. The Seattle forecast includes rain in 9 of the next 10 days, with most days being in the mid-50's. The heat's been on for the last 5 days at my house.
Welcome to Junevember.

I spent four years at school in New Hampshire. One day at morning assembly the headmaster told us the story of a New Hampshirite who lived on the state border. When the state line was resurveyed, he was informed he actully lived in the neighboring state. To which he replied:
"Thank God, I couldnt haave taken another New Hampshire winter."
