The Obama campaign is weighing in on the McCain/Palin 'guilt by association' game, providing starting linkage between John McCain and his "anti-semite pals" with the introduction of the following regarding U.S. Council for World Freedom founder John Singlaub.

Just as the McCain/Palin desperation flop-sweat starts to really stink up the country, good news arrives in this afternoon's release of new polling results showing Barack Obama and Joe Biden are widening their lead over John "What Economic Problems?" Ok, the woman dropped the gun and we know what happened. What I would like to know is what did she think would happen if she had shot at the mouse? Assuming it's not Mighty mouse, a 44 mag would go through the mouse and likely through the wall or floor and then who knows where. Maybe she used the 44 mag because it's the end of the week and she was out of hand grenades.

Based on the fact that she dropped the firearm, I postulate her marksmanship is no better than her gun handling skills. That said, a shotgun would have been a better rodent control device. It also puts larger holes in the wall, making it easier for surviving rodents to make good an escape.

Just my speculations her, but I bet the caliber was misstated for one, probably a 45 or at least a 45 shell in a 44 Magnum if not something completely different. I also suspect it was an accident that had nothing to do with a mouse.
To use this as an example for gun control legislation would be ridiculous. There was a guy around here that fell into a corner of a building while taking a leak. He hit s sharp outcrop and cut his throat and almost died. Should we pass legislation dealing with that? People do stupid stuff sometimes.
