For those who weren't able to see it live or for those who just have to see it again, here's the video. Enjoy!
As a mom of a special needs child, this portion of her speech really hit home for me:
Sometimes even the greatest joys bring challenge. And children with special needs inspire a special love.
To the families of special-needs children all across this country, I have a message: For years, you sought to make America a more welcoming place for your sons and daughters.
I pledge to you that if we are elected, you will have a friend and advocate in the White House.
Just reading it here chokes me up.
Update: Not only did Governor Palin deliver the best speech I've seen in a long time, but she delivered most of it by memory. The teleprompter broke and started scrolling through the applause lines so she had to give the speech by memory.

Yeah, that part hit me close to home as well. Could we please, pretty please, teach physicians and caregivers what velo-cardio-facial syndrome is and standardize one name for it? I'm so tired of having to explain to disinterested medical professionals what my daughter has and what it means. Not that I think it's a pressing campaign issue, but making a dent in the ignorance problem is a nice thought.
I love Sarah Palin.

I am definitely going to share this with my Toastmasters speech club this Saturday. I was wondering why she was stepping on her applause, and noticed her pauses matching the audience about halfway through.
I am suitably impressed; as an amateur speaker, I am hard pressed to give a cogent speech without even the barest notes.

I didn't watch her speech until this morning. Couldn't stay awake last night. I'm an 'early to bed and early to rise person. But I gotta say, she did an outstanding job. Untimely pauses and such, but given what I understand were technical issues, a job very well done.
Not a single, "Uh..." that I can recall.

"The teleprompter broke"
lol! Could you just immagine the stammering jibberish that would come out of Obama's mouth if that happened to him. Uhhhh, Ummmm, Uhhhh....

If Bambi's teleprompter broke he'd leave the stage until they fixed it.

Bullshit:
Plus you can tell she's using the teleprompter; she keeps looking back at it every 8 seconds or so.
If Bambi's teleprompter broke he'd leave the stage until they fixed it.
More bullshit. Here's the kind of off-the-cuff speech Obama can deliver.
