On a sidenote, looks like the video about what actually caused the financial mess we're in now, "Burning Down The House", has been pulled from several sites. I think it's a "cease and desist" from Warner due to unapproved use of a copyrighted song.

Nothing could have helped him. McCain handled him beautifully and don't kid yourselves, Americans took note. Obama was dismissive, condescending and smarmy and those are not personality traits that resonate well with the American people. Treating someone like Senator McCain in that fashion was suicidal stupidity on Senator Obama's part. Senator McCain consistently referred to Senator Obama by his full title, while not ONCE did Senator Obama call Senator McCain by anything other than his first name or "you". It was Senator McCain who sent well wishes to the hospitalized Senator Kennedy - not Senator Obama.

All in all, Senator Obama was an embarrassment to this nation - as he always is. His arrogant surety of his own value is so overinflated as to match the overheated and hyperbolic rhetoric of his somewhat deluded admirers.

The proof is in the video but here's the transcript:

(Remember that Palin was a journalism major and she still can't name one newspaper or magazine!)

Couric: And when it comes to establishing your worldview, I was curious, what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for this to stay informed and to understand the world?

Palin: I've read most of them, again with a great appreciation for the press, for the media.

Couric: What, specifically?

Palin: Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me all these years.

Couric: Can you name a few?

Palin: I have a vast variety of sources where we get our news, too. Alaska isn't a foreign country, where it's kind of suggested, "Wow, how could you keep in touch with what the rest of Washington, D.C., may be thinking when you live up there in Alaska?" Believe me, Alaska is like a microcosm of America.

The proof is certainly in the video. Not the one from the paint-huffers post, but the video of Obama sans teleprompter.

For those defending his performance at the debate, guess what? He sucked. Between being utterly wrong about Kissinger ,utterly wrong about almost everything else (except where he acknowledged McCain was right), and his "I can has a bracelet too" stumble, he looked less Presidential than ever, even without the stuttering inability to string thoughts together he shows anywhere else.

Palin does not even appear to know what sector of the economy is being bailed out! You're critisisms of Obama are pail in comparison.

An regarding Bidens gaffs. Biden has given over 100 interviews since being nominated. Palin has only given 3. If you consider the interview to gaff ratio Biden is not too bad.

PALIN: But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health-care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the--it's got to be all about job creation, too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health-care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans. And trade, we've got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, scary thing. But one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today, we've got to look at that as more opportunity. All those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that.

If IOWAHAWK were to be hired as a writer for SNL, the current bunch would shrivel up from shame or just launch from the windas of their ivory towers. AND THE SHOW WOULD ACTUALLY BE FUNNY AGAIN.

Not that anyone with an lucid brain cell watches that swill or anything. It'd just be nice to be able to watch American humor on TV that is actually amusing. So much for what it'd be "nice" to do...

La cucaracha,

You love your country? Can you say it without qualifiers? Just wondering. Since none of your type EVER gives any indication that you actually love America (accepting for some, obama styled, dream of "what once was, woulda, coulda, should be" crappola) on sites that you crash or your own friendly confines for that matter.

All you guys talk about is how much the place "sucks".

I'm guessing ol' "cockroach" (sorry, just can't capitalize that handle) has either formulated the "idea" that he didn't know la cucaracha was a reference to him. He doesn't seem like the "copy and paste" type and that wouldn't take this long anyway.

Mayhaps he's soliciting sound advice from the wizards of smart at "the daily kuss" or some such font of deep intellectuality.

I do sleep at night.

Of course I love my country. And that is why I detest politicans who try to make patriotism a political issue.

Throughout history and in many parts of the world today, rabid patriotism and religious fervor have contributed to the spread of intolerance and great cruelty.

Politicians do this in ways like creating a law that limits peoples freedoms and giving it a name like the "Patriot Act".

Yes, I love my country. So much that I become very leary when politicans try to portray people that disagree with them as being un-patriotic.

Maggie,

It is your opinion, not a fact that the interviews were butchered. I am curious what you base your opinion on.

FYI: ABC has posted the full transcripts on their web site. I can understand you not being aware of this if you only get your news on right wing blogs and radio.

Okay, Cockroach, let's talk about that Palin quote you posted @22:

She is not saying that the bailout is the be-all and end-all of these issues. I think she has the right idea when it comes to the economy. Here is good interview footage with McCain briefly in there, including the supposed "gaffe" with her being asked about what her news sources. Obviously, she doesn't need to plug which newspapers or news programs she watches. In this interview, with the time available, she expounds as much as she can on abortion and sexuality, as well as religion and the teaching of science.

I would like to see a transcript or an interview where Obama is as well thought out and fair as she is. Also, I would like to hear him answer the same questions about his news sources.

Ouch. That was painful to watch. Really though, doesn't every politician bomb a speech or interview? I think there are enough clips out there on both sides where people are flubbing, fumbling, or just plain not making sense. Obama, Palin, McCain, Biden, Bush, Clinton have all said some pretty moronic things. It really boils down if you like that person or party enough to look past it. But if you are willing to do that, should you be burning the other at the stake for doing the same? Unless of course... "It's different when X did it, because X"

Having said that, I enjoyed seeing this immensely. Thanks for posting. The MSM somehow seems to miss Obama's mess ups. Hmmm....
