New McCain Ad: Ayers

The McCain campaign must have some polling on this that shows Americans are seriously concerned about Obama's relationship with a domestic terrorist because now the campaign is going head long into the subject. It's a damning ad, which is 1:40 long, indicating that it's an internet ad only. Ed Morrissey speculates that the campaign may buy 90 second slots in battleground states since it ends with the standard broadcast announcement of "I approve this message."

Here's the text:

ANNCR: Barack Obama and domestic terrorist Bill Ayers. Friends. They've worked together for years.

But Obama tries to hide it. Why?

Obama launched his political career in Ayers' living room.

Ayers and Obama ran a radical "education" foundation, together.

They wrote the foundation's by-laws, together.

Obama was the foundation's first chairman.

Reports say they, "distributed more than $100 million to ideological allies with no discernible improvement in education."

When their relationship became an issue, Obama just responded, "This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood."

That's it?

We know Bill Ayers ran the "violent left wing activist group" called Weather Underground.

We know Ayers' wife was on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list.

We know they bombed the Capitol. The Pentagon. A judge's home.

We know Ayers said, "I don't regret setting bombs. .... I feel we didn't do enough."

But Obama's friendship with terrorist Ayers isn't the issue.

The issue is Barack Obama's judgment and candor.

When Obama just says, "This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood."

Americans say, "Where's the truth, Barack?"

Barack Obama. Too risky for America.

JOHN MCCAIN: I'm John McCain and I approve this message.

Yesterday, the McCain campaign issued a press release about John Murtagh, who was 9 years old when members of Ayers' Weather Underground firebombed his house. This is how Murtagh described it:

"When I was 9 years-old the Weather Underground, the terrorist group founded by Barack Obama's friend William Ayers, firebombed my house. Barack Obama has dismissed concerns about his relationship with Ayers by noting that he was only a child when Ayers was planting bombs at the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol. But Ayers has never apologized for his crimes, he has reveled in them, expressing regret only for the fact that he didn't do more.

"While Barack Obama once downplayed his relationship with Ayers, today his campaign took that deceit one step further. Barack Obama now denies he was even aware of his friend's violent past when, in 1995, Ayers hosted a party launching Obama's political career. Given Ayers' celebrity status among the left, it's difficult to believe. The question remains: what did Obama know, and when did he know it? When did Obama learn the truth about his friend? Barack Obama helped Ayers promote his book in 1997, served on charitable boards with him through 2002, and regularly exchanged emails and phone calls with him through 2005. At what point did Barack Obama discover that his friend was an unrepentant terrorist? And if he is so repulsed by the acts of terror committed by William Ayers, why did the relationship continue? Any honest accounting by Barack Obama will necessarily cast further doubt on his judgment and his fitness to serve as commander in chief.

"Barack Obama may have been a child when William Ayers was plotting attacks against U.S. targets -- but I was one of those targets. Barack Obama's friend tried to kill my family."

The background story:

At that time, Murtagh's father was a New York State Supreme Court justice presiding over the trial of the so-called "Panther 21," members of the Black Panther Party indicted in a plot to bomb New York landmarks and department stores. Early on the morning of February 21, 1970, three gasoline-filled firebombs exploded at their home on the northern tip of Manhattan, two at the front door and the third tucked neatly under the gas tank of the family car. The same night, bombs were thrown at a police car in Manhattan and two military recruiting stations in Brooklyn. A few weeks after the attack, the New York contingent of the Weathermen blew themselves up making more bombs in a Greenwich Village townhouse. In late November that year, a letter to the Associated Press signed by Bernardine Dohrn, Ayers's wife, promised more bombings.

The Greenwich Village bombing killed 3 of the Weather Underground terrorists, including Ayers' girlfriend at the time. Once both Ayers and Dohrn were on the run and underground following the botched bombing, they hooked up and became partners.

Here is the Chicago Annenberg Foundation three year report. This is the foundation that Ayers and a couple of his friends started with Annenberg's money. Ken Rollings was the first executive director.

Three year report:

William Ayers is described as a political organizer and a local education professor. I wasn't willing to pay for the final report.

Then there is:

http://www.supportbillayers.org/

Over 1,700 educators have signed a petition of support for Ayers.

I am not making this up.

The final report on the near 150 million spent boiled down to two words: nothing changed. I have not found the list of those who got the money, but if I understand Chicago politics, what really changed was the size of the wallets of an assortment of connected characters, "Activists" and "Reformers," all code words for those who elect to stress entitlement instead of hard work.

Oh, and finally, if you go read the contract between the Chicago Teacher's Union and the Chicago School District, high school teachers are required to work a back breaking 6 and a half hours a day. Elementary teachers do 5 hours and 15 minutes.

Here is the contract:

It should be noted that Ayers' father was the CEO of Continental Edison, the power company, and at one time the President of the Chicago School Board.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd, at a rally in Vienna, Ohio, on Sept. 16, 2008.

Oct. 7, 2008 | "My government is my worst enemy. I'm going to fight them with any means at hand."

This was former revolutionary terrorist Bill Ayers back in his old Weather Underground days, right? Imagine what Sarah Palin is going to do with this incendiary quote as she tears into Barack Obama this week.

Only one problem. The quote is from Joe Vogler, the raging anti-American who founded the Alaska Independence Party. Inconveniently for Palin, that's the very same secessionist party that her husband, Todd, belonged to for seven years and that she sent a shout-out to as Alaska governor earlier this year. ("Keep up the good work," Palin told AIP members. "And God bless you.")

Enjoy this story?

Thanks for your support.
AIP chairwoman Lynette Clark told me recently that Sarah Palin is her kind of gal. "She's Alaskan to the bone ... she sounds just like Joe Vogler."

So who are these America-haters that the Palins are pallin' around with?

Before his strange murder in 1993, party founder Vogler preached armed insurrection against the United States of America. Vogler, who always carried a Magnum with him, was fond of saying, "When the [federal] bureaucrats come after me, I suggest they wear red coats. They make better targets. In the federal government are the biggest liars in the United States, and I hate them with a passion. They think they own [Alaska]. There comes a time when people will choose to die with honor rather than live with dishonor. That time may be coming here. Our goal is ultimate independence by peaceful means under a minimal government fully responsive to the people. I hope we don't have to take human life, but if they go on tramping on our property rights, look out, we're ready to die."

This quote is from "Coming Into the Country," by John McPhee, who traipsed around Alaska's remote gold mining country with Vogler for his 1991 book. The violent-tempered secessionist vowed to McPhee that if any federal official tried to stop him from polluting Alaska's rivers with his earth-moving equipment, he would "run over him with a Cat and turn mosquitoes loose on him while he dies."

Vogler wasn't just a blowhard either. He put his secessionist ideas into action, working to build AIP membership to 20,000 -- an impressive figure by Alaska standards -- and to elect party member Walter Hickel as governor in 1990.

Vogler's greatest moment of glory was to be his 1993 appearance before the United Nations to denounce United States "tyranny" before the entire world and to demand Alaska's freedom. The Alaska secessionist had persuaded the government of Iran to sponsor his anti-American harangue.

That's right ... Iran. The Islamic dictatorship. The taker of American hostages. The rogue nation that McCain and Palin have excoriated Obama for suggesting we diplomatically engage. That Iran.

AIP leaders allege that Vogler, who was murdered that year by a fellow secessionist, was taken out by powerful forces in the U.S. before he could reach his U.N. platform. "The United States government would have been deeply embarrassed," by Vogler's U.N. speech, darkly suggests Clark. "And we can't have that, can we?"

The Republican ticket is working hard this week to make Barack Obama's tenuous connection to graying, '60s revolutionary Bill Ayers a major campaign issue. But the Palins' connection to anti-American extremism is much more central to their political biographies.

Imagine the uproar if Michelle Obama was revealed to have joined a black nationalist party whose founder preached armed secession from the United States and who enlisted the government of Iran in his cause? The Obama campaign would probably not have survived such an explosive revelation. Particularly if Barack Obama himself was videotaped giving the anti-American secessionists his wholehearted support just months ago.

Where's the outrage, Sarah Palin has been asking this week, in her attacks on Obama's fuzzy ties to Ayers? The question is more appropriate when applied to her own disturbing associations.

The Republican ticket is working hard this week to make Barack Obama's tenuous connection to graying, '60s revolutionary Bill Ayers a major campaign issue. But the Palins' connection to anti-American extremism is much more central to their political biographies.

Sarah Palin did not start her political career in Vogler's living room.

Sarah Palin did not serve as Chairman of an Annenberg Challenge group that Vogler raised the money for.

Sarah Palin did not pass out money to the AIP from an Annenberg Challenge group, nor did she do it from her own wallet.

Sarah Palin did not oversee nearly 150 million in dollars through AIP and Vogler to Alaska "Activist" groups so the AIP could brainwash children.

Sarah Palin did not seek, nor was she given, the endorsement of the AIP.

Obama did all those things, plus he sought and was given the endorsement of the New Party, a Marxist/Socialist Party. I am not making this up. It is part of the public record.

It is ok with me if you want to vote for Obama. That is your right as an American. But please don't try to infest my mind with convoluted avoidance of the truth. These connections to Ayers mean nothing and lack merit. it is pure and total guilt by association.

The co-host of a recent top-dollar fundraiser for Sen. John McCain oversaw the payment of roughly $1.7 million to a Colombian paramilitary group that is today designated a terrorist organization by the United States.

Carl H. Lindner Jr., the billionaire Cincinnati businessman paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (known by the Spanish acronym AUC), which is described by George Washington University's National Security Archive as an "illegal right-wing anti-guerrilla group tied to many of the country's most notorious civilian massacres."

John McCain also has past connections to a private group that supplied aid to guerrillas seeking to overthrow the leftist government of Nicaragua in the Iran-Contra affair. The U.S. Council for World Freedom was part of an international organization linked to former Nazi collaborators and ultra-right-wing death squads in Central America.

On "Countdown w/ Keith Olberman" last night, it was revealed that McBush has ties with "terrorists" as well. There was a meeting of ultra-right wing conservatives he attended---a meeting a colleague in the Senate warned him against attending. In this meeting, a woman who had maimed an abortion doctor was praised. She went on to commit other acts of terrorism, such as bombing an abortion clinic. The judge at her sentencing said" I hate to use the label 'terrorist' to describe anyone, but ma'am, you are a terrorist". And, this is a woman praised by the one of the speakers at this meeting. The meeting was held in Oregon. Now, Obama was nine years old when Ayers committed his acts of terrorism; McBush was in his mid-sixties when he attended this meeting. Obama had no knowledge of Ayers' activities, and when they were brought to his attention, he condemned them. However, Ayers is now a well-respected professor at the University of Illinois at Chicage; the woman praised at McBush's meeting is a convicted terrorist convicted within the last eight to ten years. This is in keeping w/ his campaign's strategy: If you talk about the issues, you (McBush) will lose. If you can't fabricate the facts, bedazzle them w/BS. How sad.

I did not make up any of what I posted. All of it is public record. And I didn't get a single one of my facts from Olberman or Rush. I read the reports. I analyzed the date for myself.

I did use public record; news reports that have never been refuted by Obama such as the endorsement by the New Party.

Obama may have been eight years old when Ayers did what he did THEN, but he wasn't eight years old when he started his elected office campaigns in Ayers living room.

He wasn't eight years old when he served as Ayers hand picked Chairman for the Chicago Annenberg Challenge.

He wasn't eight years old when he sought and received the New Party endorsement.

Obama wasn't eight years old when he got a million dollar earmark grant for the same medical hospital where his wife got a $200,000 a year raise. She was in control of the program to dump the indigent to other medical facilities. And Axelrod was the PR guy for that stunt.

Obama wasn't eight years old when he:

1992 - runs "Project Vote" registration drive in Chicago for ACORN.
1993 - Serves on the board of Woods Foundation with Ayers.
1995 - Gest his first political donation from Tony Rezko.
1997 - Gets a thousand dollar donation from Rezko, who says at the time he couldn't afford to turn on the heat in his public housing projects.
1998 - Sponsors a bill that creates affordable local housing funds to subsidize private developers (like Rezko).
1998 - Sponsors a bill to facilitate privately built, subsidized low income tenements. Care to know the condition of those today?
1998 - Writes state and city officials to give Rezko 14.6 million for a low income housing project.
1999 - announces for congress and names Pfleger as a supporter.
2000 - announces large state granst for Pfleger.

I could go on for days.

Obama wasn't eight years old when he wrote Audacity of Hope. Have any of you guys read it?

The moral equivalency canard the liberals are trying to play between Obama/ Ayers and Palin/ Volger is absurd. I haven't even seen anywhere that Palin ever so much as met Volger. She certainly didn't start her political career in his living room nor worked for radical foundations started by him. She was never even a member of the AIP, but that doesn't stop deranged, logic-challenged moonbats.

The comparison between the Weather Underground and AIP is also absurd. Can the liberals name one act of violence ever committed by the AIG? They are a peaceful and legal third political party attempting to push for greater autonomy for Alaskans to utilize their resources without federal interference. The Alaskan Governor was elected in 1990 under their banner, although he was previously a Republican and returned to the Republican Party during his term.

Maybe I should simplify for our simple-minded friends.

AIG = Legal = Non-violent = Greater Alaskan Autonomy = Had Candidate Become Governor = Founder Never Connected with Palin

Weathermen Underground = Very Violent = Destroy US = Had its Terrorists Murder or Try to Murder People = Unrepetant Founders Introduced Obama to the Political World
