I could only pull up the website once. They must have a lot of spyware. Based on the list of items I saw, it looks almost like merchandise the extremists would sell as if McCain and Palin were in office.

Leftist/Rightist blogger links to some crazy website spouting some crazy bull about the opposition candidate. One would have to pretty much be a braindead orangutan to believe that said crazies speak for the mainstream of the opposition.
Blogger implies that the crazies speak for the mainstream of the opposition.
Everyone has a good laugh in the echo chamber about how whacked the other half of the country is.

You're SOOO right Parthenon. Kinda like the guy at the McCain rally screaming "kill Obama" that the messiah brought up last night.....................Oh wait a minute, there really WASN'T a guy yelling "kill Obama" per the Secret Service.
Oh well, was darned important Obama mention it anyway. Can't let a little truth get in the way of good sophestry.
btw, how'd you like it if your wife or girlfriend was treated this way? Would you say "awwh shucks, these shirt makers are just fringe character"?

You are describing DU and Kos perfectly, which means you've done your homework. Except the "pattern" part. You stole that from another post here and used it in the wrong format.

btw, how'd you like it if your wife or girlfriend was treated this way? Would you say "awwh shucks, these shirt makers are just fringe character"?
Obviously not. I'm only pointing out that it's a constant (and usually deliberate, IMO) mistake made by those of both political ideologies to assume that one whacko stands for the whole.
And Sen. Obama, IIRC, didn't say that anyone said 'kill Obama.' He said he'd heard reports that someone had shouted 'kill him' when his name was mentioned. This was later defended as 'the guy was referring to Bill Ayers,' implying that it was okay to call for the murder of Ayers.

Yep, that t-shirt is a good example of a classless political attack.
I agree with Parthenon though. I think that both sides have their fair share of people who resort to this kind of crap. Kinda like the person who made the Obama billboard.
As much as some of us may disagree, there is really no need to take things to such low levels.

Kos and the DU definitely turn into irritating echo chambers, I agree with you. I have had some pretty bad run-ins at Kos--and I am by no means a conservative, just so you know. Wizbang Blue, under its current management, is another fine example of a place where disagreement with the so-called editor and/or alternative views gets people banned in a flash. Always gotta be careful when debating about things that people hold as absolute and final truth (at least until they change their minds).
But don't kid yourself LaMedusa...the right has its share of echo chambers as well.
The main thing is to keep an open mind, and to try to listen to others. We can disagree without completely losing our minds, IMO. Respect and class goes a long way.

I disagree. The "Palin is a C*nt" t-shirt makes no effort to do anything other than to denigrate Palin with the vulgarity. On the other hand, though also crude, the "Drill Baby, Drill" t-shirt is an attempt at humor. It might not be your brand of humor, but I think there is more to it than just a slur.

As a conservative libertarian, I have seen my share of extremes, even in the libertarian arena. An example would be: "Only Ron Paul for President!", and I can't even begin to tell you what is wrong with that kind of thinking. Well, sifting through several blogs will tell you the what an extremist is all about, but the left "echo chambers" most likely to frequent Wizbang are from DU, Kos, Salon, and Talking Points Memo. I guess I didn't give the latter two enough credit.

So, I looked at your link, there, Brian:
http://t-shirts.cafepress.com/anti-obama?page=1
A couple are offensive, I grant..."Racist Prick" and "Hitler gave good speeches, too".
However, when you can point out a "Obama is a Nigger" t-shirt, or a shirt with Obama screwing a welfare pig yelling "Hope and Change baby!", *AND*, it being linked from the McCain/Palin website, then you can get back to us about equivalence.
People who wear these kind of shirts (left or right) are rather retarded anyway, in my opinion.
That goes for bumperstickers as well.
