The City of Toledo is an Embarrassment

Because Joe dared to question the messiah, the city of Toledo is swooping in and putting Joe the Plumber out of business. As a Toledoan from the day I was born until almost two years ago, I am embarrassed of my home town. Hot Air has all the sordid details.

Why are you bashing Toledo? Don't you think the MSM inquired into Joe's certification with the city? Maybe this information is accessible through the web. Weren't they just answering the questions? Unless, this is not public information? I don't know. But if the information is public. What did Toledo officials do wrong?

God d*mn them. I hate that we have this going on.

I'm in Southern CA, and was just working in my garage with the radio on. Listening to an oldie station, "The Boomer" AM1450, they felt the need to make this the "newsbreak" item of the hour: "Turns out Joe the Plumber isn't even a plumber, makes nowhere near $250,000, and under Obama's plan, would not have to pay higher taxes"

There were so many things wrong with that statement, it's ridiculous.

I came inside, turned on the television, and the Channel 2 news talking head repeated the statement VERBATIM... I'm guessing straight from the Obama camp.

To witness this disgraceful journalism first hand is strange, sureal, and more than a little bit scary.

(to be fair, the Channel 2 news item also added that there was a tax lien against Joe's home at one time, so that's real reportin')

All this for daring to question a politician's tax plan.

I can really see where all this may be heading, and I don't like it one bit.

Nobody is going to like what I have to say, but I think Joe needs to follow the law and get his license, if that's what the law requires. As liberal a town as Toledo is, the business he works for was going to be negatively affected, anyway.

However, I find it incredibly ironic that asking a tough question of The One brought down the hammer of the government upon him. Big Brother is watching, comrades. Be careful of what you say and do.

It's going to be interesting to see The One's reaction to the story. This is a perfect opportunity to show that he's actually Lord Obama, Most Merciful.

I went to the website of the Toledo Blade (Toledo's NYTimes) to read the hit job on Joe the Plumber. Started surfing around their site, and found a section for online reader polls. One caught my eye:

The poll asked if Sarah Palin abused her power when she fired her ex brother in law, Mike Wooten (Alaska State Trooper.) It was about 90% yes.

Sarah Palin did not fire Mike Wooten. He ended up with a 5 day suspension.

I learned 2 things:

1) The Toledo Blade presents Obama spin as fact

2) about 90% of their readership are idiots.

'Joe the Plumber' was required to work for several years in the field and then take a test. He is a few weeks out from being elegible to take the test to become a certified Plumber. Plumbing is a trade, not brain surgery and involves actual manual labor, something foreign to a democrat. He has met all state requirements other than the test. I read on another blog that the plumbers union is getting involved. Maybe Hussien's admission that he is a Marxist and will take from you and everyone else will turn the union endorsement to people who actually support the working people.

As for his tax problem, enough money is on the way to take care of it since 'Huff and Puff' in her normal stupidity published his address. Other sites are asking for donations and getting them. Before today is out he will have a paypal account to donate to.

Major lawsuits for slander of a private citizen are coming and all the evidence needed to win is on the blogs and Media outlets.

That's not what brought the hammer down. It was McCain repeatedly using him as the anti-Obama poster boy during the debate. McCain's the one who brought him into play.

Do you not think that if Obama repeatedly described "Halsey the Designer" or "Brian the Bartender" who had no healthcare, that the right would bring down the same hammer?

No, they (referring to the media) did it because McCain propped him up as a part of his campaign. How many ghoulish venom-spitting vipers set out to destroy Joe prior to the third debate? McCain ineptly threw him to the wolves, then stepped out of the blood flow.

Your defense is the usual: You did it too!

I offer no defense. It's terrible what the media did to Joe. Just as it was when right-wing bloggers (including Wizbang) did it to Halsey the Designer and Brian the Bartender (which you conveniently didn't bother to comment on). How many lefty bloggers are staking out Joe's house?

And to set you straight, "you did it too" is never a defense. But it does effectively show the disingenuousness and lack of credibility of those who act offended.

The point I made was it was ironic that the government hammer brought down upon him on behalf of a socialist; not the media. Not surprising that went way, way, WAY over your head, despite your quoting that part of my comment verbatim. I'm sure you'll try to twist that into something else or change the subject again.
