Today's winner is Gabriel Saucedo. He gets the award for the following-
Arizona State University student Alex Botsios said he had no problem giving a nighttime intruder his wallet and guitars. If you're going to threaten someone with a baseball bat, you better know how to use it. Also don't try to steal a law student's computer which has all his class notes on it. He's liable to fight back. All of this earns Gabriel Saucedo today's Knucklehead of the Day.When the man asked for Botsios' laptop, however, the first-year law student drew the line.
"I was like, 'Dude, no -- please, no!" Botsios said. "I have all my case notes...that's four months of work!"
Police said Gabriel Saucedo entered Botsios' apartment through an open window early Thursday morning. When Botsios woke up, Saucedo threatened him with a baseball bat, police said.
He was just like, 'I'm going to smash your head in,'" Botsios said.
At that point, the law student wrestled the bat away and began punching Saucedo, Botsios said.
"I basically grabbed him and threw him this way, and he held onto the bat so it threw him to the ground," he said.
Police said they took Saucedo to the hospital for stitches before they arrested him on charges of armed robbery and kidnapping. Other than a bruised knuckle and a few scratches, Botsios was unharmed.

Now that ICE is no longer permitted to deport anyone, I would imagine that Gabriel will be demanding laptops for a long time to come.

Hurray for the law student. But seriously...
I was like.. Dude, and he was just like...
Let's hope his communication skill improves before he gets to the courtroom.

Since when? I can cite lots of articles involving deportation, but I'll just use this one. Its headline reads
US deporting record levels of undocumented immigrants: ICE
Deportations aren't stopping.

Seriously. Do not get between a law student, particularly a twitchy first semester 1L, and their notes. If he had class outlines on that laptop, the intruder would have been killed out right. Law students can be kinda focused.
In law school the old lady in the house next door died...my roomie and I were so focused on law school we never noticed living next to a decomposing body for seven months. We thought a possum died under the porch or in the old cistern or seomthing and went back to outlining.

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that this guy doesn't keep backups of his laptop. This whole experience will be trivial compared to when he experiences his first hard drive crash.

TO OLDPUPPYMAX:
I know that this guy is a criminal scum bag, but why do you have to assume he is an illegal alien because he has a Latin,Mexican last name? I could care less about that guy, but It offends me because I am of Mexican descent and would be pissed if you called me an illegal immigrant. Especially when I am no immigrant to begin with. Born and raised in the US along with my parents, grandparents, etc. Don't assume that every Latino is an illegal immigrant. Anyways, this story is funny! The guy got what he deserved.
