The possibility OBL is dead is very real. His boys are still active, however and we are way to nice in fighting them. Collateral damage isn't important to these guys. They only whine about it to get sympathy from civilized nations. If this wasn't the case they wouldn't hide among women and children like a bunch of cowards. Go get 'em.

The truth is that since 9/11 OBL became largely irrelevant save as a symbol. Alive or dead, he has already started the machinery in motion. Prior to 9/11 most terror groups had a hands off policy regarding attacks within the US proper, given the amount of financial and PR support they get from the useful idiots, fellow travelers, and fifth columnists. Burying him won't make any difference at all in whom we fight and why, although the left will pretend it means the WOT is over.

Which is why, I think, we haven't heard any confirmation or even speculation from the GWB administration over OBL's current status.

I've thought he was dead since Tora Borra or shortly after. And I think that's the real reason why Bush went from "wanted: dead or alive" to "not important" (or whatever it was he said).

We nailed him, or he died from kidney failure, and we felt it was much more important that we went along with the fiction that he was alive than say he was pushing up daisies.

I have no real proof, of course. But it would be so simple for him to contact some sympathetic journalist and do an interview that proves without a doubt he was alive.

I think they buried him real deep so they could keep claiming we'd never get their "great leader". However he died, I hope it was in pure and utter agony over months of suffering. His misguided followers will be hearing tapes of him for years to come, just like all of those "Elvis" sightings that we hear about.
