How Many Jobs will the Democrats' Stimulus Bill Create?

This video comes to us from the Weighs and Means Republicans, apparently the only Republican group out there bringing attention to this boondoggle.

Kim, I guess a person can hope that the amount of jobs created will equal the ones lost under President Bush, right? Or are all those lost jobs just myth by the lefties? Same as the economy being in the tank, just more lefty BS, right? Same as all the Billions of our money being spent for the Wall Street companies? Yes, Kim, it's all the lefty's fault. You Betcha, wink, wink.

You're awfully defensive tonight, Allen. This video hit a nerve I see.

Allen:

No Kim, just explaining it so you can hopefully realize just what has happened in the last 8 years. But I guess you don't really want to realize the truth.

And as I'm not a lefty or righty, that video doesn't mean manure to me, so therefore no nerve was hit. But I guess my previous comment hit your nerve, right?

No nerve hitting from you. Nice try though. You would be smart to remember, Allen, that you don't have a monopoly on the truth. I would no more believe your truth about George Bush than I would Harry Reid's or Nancy Pelosi's.

Allen, you've been conned by the greatest confidence gamers ever known to the Chicago mob; the con artists are so good they even have you defending them. Sucker.

Two options (non-partisan):... (Below threshold)
_Mike_:

Two options (non-partisan):

(1) Cut taxes - leaves money in the hands of the people to which it belongs. Those people then have the option of 'voting with their dollars' where the money should be spent.

(2) Raise taxes / deficit spending (deferred taxation) - takes money from the hands of the people to which it belongs then runs the money through a huge bureaucracy to be allocated by some politician as to which part of the bureaucracy gets to spend the money. A series of bureaucrats will then trickle the money down through their bureaucratic hierarchy where, eventually, the remaining amount will be spent on some 'works project' the bureaucracy deems worthy.

(A) One option represents the freedom to the choose (allowing people to 'vote with their dollars').

(B) One option represents a form of tyranny where our ruling class dictates choices.

Which would you choose ?

I fully expect that, somewhere down the line, Obama will be giving fireside chats (a la Jimmy Carter; remember him?), to explain how "YES,WE CAN!" evolved into "Here's why we can't."

This should probably read "be spent, or saved for a future emergency."

It's fine to let the people hold on to the money and decide how it will be spent.

However, in uncertain times, they are as likely to stick it in the bank, in case the downturn affects them directly. Since the banks haven't been particularly quick in extending credit to revive the economy, this reduces the effect that money will have on the economy.

How Many Jobs will the Democrats' Stimulus Bill Create?

Kim, Kim, Kim. You are living in the past. You and cynics like you fail to understand that the ground has shifted beneath you.

How Many Jobs will the Democrats' Stimulus Bill Create?

All of them.

Each and every increase in payrolls for at least the next 4 years will be directly attributed to Great Leader and his package by both Administration mouthpieces and the press (I know, same thing). The citizenry will repeat back that they believe this through polls. By 2012 it will be common knowledge. Even if a Republican wins in 2012 and the economy grows, any jobs added then will still be attributed to Great Leader.

If we don't learn to counter this propaganda juggernaut that is the Democrat's 5th Column of a 4th Estate, we, the conservatives, will continue to be steamrolled. Communication MUST be improved. Newt is probably the right person to follow on this issue, because he's smart, knows history, is well-spoken, is involved, is generally a pleasant personality, is connected with the right think-tanks ensuring his data is accurate and timely, and is already working towards this goal. The only person that I recall breaking through the media onslaught against Gov. Palin at convention time was Newt and his 'laugh in your face' comparison of Great Leader's and Gov. Palin's experience - a video that got wide play.

New Era of Crap!!:

Hmmm. Immediate federal tax holiday. Payroll tax holiday. We'd see the $$$ in our next paychecks. How about that for a stimulus!!! And it would cost less than the Son of Tarp or Tarp 2 or a Failed policy! Whatever the F*&^ you want to call it !!! I call it economic crusher!! 10% of the funds released over the next 2 years??? CBO cannot say one job would be created??

Obama CEO of America ?!?! We'll be bankrupt in a year, Heck, Moody's and S&P are considering putting the USA on credit watch!!! No more AAA rated bonds!!

Were cooked!!

Oh yeah, and now we pay for abortions across the world !!! Welcome to the New Age of Responsibility!!! What a JOKE!!

However,..

There's a fundamental problem with your statement. Government 'lets' people hold on to their money ? The statement contains an implication that the wealth belongs to the government.. which is fundamentally false.
