I could not find a story at Fox, CNN or MSN sites yet, just the Breaking News banner. I'll update with links when available.
Update: Breitbart has the following from the AP:
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - New York state police say a 50-passenger commuter plane has crashed into a home in suburban Buffalo. There was no immediate information on injuries.State Trooper John Manthey says the plane hit a house in Clarence around 10:10 p.m. Thursday.
Flames erupted from remnants of the house and aircraft as firefighters sought to control the blaze.
Manthey says they don't know whether there were any passengers on the plane. They also don't know if there were any injuries in the home.
Clarence is about 20 miles northeast of Buffalo.
Manthey says the plane may have been headed to Buffalo Niagara International Airport. He says authorities have called the Federal Aviation Administration.

Bombardier Dash 8 Q-400. I read one post somewhere that said a plane behind them report icing conditions. I'll wait on the NTSB and FAA.
That being said, It is a good airplane even with the gear troubles SAS had with them. That may have been failure to follow maintenance procedures. But they had no fatalities.

Drudge is linking The Buffalo News, which is reporting 49 deaths and a huge fire after the crash. The dead include 44 passengers, 4 crew, and 1 person on the ground. It looks like no one made it out alive.

"what happened?" looks like ice maybe - other planes there were reporting they were icing up.

Just this week, the hero pilot from the other New York "miracle landing" was a guest on Larry King and David Letterman. He was probably getting deals for interviews and books like crazy. Now I bet his phone has gone silent. Unfortunately the airline industry is only as good as it's last crash story. And this changes the good news story to this bad news story.
The media and the public consumption for news are strange entities indeed.
