This is such a great idea. If you live in or around the Seattle area and if it's at all possible, get yourself and everyone you know who's also pissed off that this crap sandwich is being shoved down our throats down to the taxpayer protest organized by Liberty Belle. Here are the details:
The protest against the porkulus is on for President's Day!Date: Monday, February 16th
Time: 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Where: Westlake Park in downtown Seattle, 401 Pine St., in the open area by the big arch. The idea is to use what we've learned about dissent over the last eight years. We need loud protests with lots noise and visuals. So, what should you bring?
Bring AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN! Bring your families, your friends, neighbors, bring everyone!
Bring SIGNS!! Get those craft making juices flowing and make signs and banners and pictures and paintings. Just imagine that you are a left-wing college student with nothing else to do and that should help you get started!
Bring something to sit on and appropriate clothing.
Most importantly, JUST BRING IT!!!
I love this idea. It would be very cool if a similar protest took place in Denver, the site where Obama will sign the crap sandwich into law.

And an economic advisor to John McCain's failed presidential bid voiced support that at least the government is involved in aggressive action to address the economy. You know Paul, I actually would have supported a stimulus bill that weren't such a pile of dung.
Cut the payroll tax for 6 months. Set aside 5 billion for new vehicle vouchers ($5000 gov. money on american vehicles so you're only borrowing $10,000 for a $15,000 vehicle, minus whatever you can put down, and the value of your trade-in), this would only be in effect for 3 months (to trigger the "Black Friday" mindset).
This would have put more money into peoples pockets, and would have given them an incentive to spend it on an industry that drives our nation (which would allow for credit to start flowing again)... and just ease into a recovery.
I definitely do not think that ramming this piece of crap through in a week, with nobody knowing exactly what's in there, with provisions to back door universal health care, or building a mag-lev between LA and LV.
This is a bald faced power grab, and the desire by useful idiots such as yourself, Paul, for them to "Do Something" just egged them on. This is 1 Trillion dollars (including interest). That's an awful lot of money that will have a HUGE effect on the economy. As such, I would want to make DAMNED SURE that they're doing the RIGHT thing. Because if what was done isn't right, that HUGE effect that the awful lot of money will probably make it unimaginably worse.
I noticed that Obama said in one of his appearances something along the lines of "if there's a fire in your city, everyone better grab a hose". What I found so ironic in that, is that if you're not actually paying attention to the hose you're using, you might have just grabbed a gas hose, and made it all the worse.
And that's the danger of the "Just Do Something" mentality. When all you care about is to "Just Do Something", you often get it wrong.

The GOP just voted against the biggest middle class tax cuts in history. When the vast majority of congressional Republicans oppose the package, they'll be voting against the biggest tax cut "in history." they voted against the biggest MIDDLE-CLASS tax cut in American history, after voting FOR Bush's gigantic tax cuts for the rich. The ads just write themselves: These GOP assholes have no idea what's in store for them come November 2010. I'm sure that there are many ominous plans brewing by the repugblicans in the Senate and House-- get ready for spin, spin, spin. It's not difficult but rather sad, and disgusting because they want our President, their President, to fail. NO MATTER WHAT, THE REPUBLICANS WANT FAILURE.
1.9 Trillion in total Bush tax cuts for the wealthy? Check.
Democratic tax cuts are bad yet Republican't tax cuts are good. I'd love for them to start that argument and then have statistics on how their GOP tax cuts helped 1% of the country while Democratic tax cuts helped 95% of the country. The GOP voted for a recession and against preventing one.
All my children got for all their spending were 2 wars and wealthier rich people. At least this bill will leave them with better schools, roads, bridges, rails... shall I continue? The Republicans want the economy to struggle for two more years so they can proudly sing their favorite song, "Govment Doesn't Work! (Tax Cuts 4da Wealthy Will)".
And you think the GOP will, even if this job bill doesn't work, you will gain seats in the house and senate? Honestly, wake up. The average American taxpayer/voter has seen thru the GOP BS. Bitch and complain, call me names, etc. it's not going to do any good when the next elections come around.
And why do you want this bill to fail? You don't want American's having jobs? If so, please explain why you don't!

The ESA did nothing and the TARP was mishandled to say the least.
Barack Hussein Obama will sign into law a bill that dwarfs any of the two aforementioned bills by such a wide margin as to be laughable AND SKY-ROCKETED the budget and deficit in doing so.
