From Jake Tapper - Obama appears on Jay Leno and jokes about being a bad bowler saying it's "like the Special Olympics or something."
The first appearance by a sitting president on "The Tonight Show" may well end up being the last.Look, considering all the other things he has done and said the past two months, this comment is probably the least of his troubles, but I just have to wonder what the reaction to this would have been if it was President George Bush who said it. It remains to be seen how much attention and what kind of reaction the comment will get.President Obama, in his taping with Jay Leno Thursday afternoon, attempted to yuk it up with the funnyman, and ended up insulting the disabled.
Towards the end of his approximately 40-minute appearance, the president talked about how he's gotten better at bowling and has been practicing in the White House bowling alley.
He bowled a 129, the president said.
"That's very good, Mr. President," Leno said sarcastically.
It's "like the Special Olympics or something," the president said.
Kim adds: I understand President Obama was trying to make a self-deprecating joke, so I don't want to make a bigger deal out of this that what it is, but, man that was cringe inducing. At least it was for me since I, like millions of other parents, have a disabled child. I mean his joke is right up there with Joe Biden asking a wheelchair-bound man to stand up. Obama certainly didn't do anything to quell the teleprompter jokes.
I, too, could make a joke and tell the president to skip the comedy routine and stick to his day job, but he sucks even more at that.
Kim adds again: I saw Bernie Goldberg on Bill O'Reilly the other night say that Obama going on Leno was a win-win for him. It's safe to say Bernie overestimated Obama's ability to speak extemporaneously. Be sure to stop by Barack's Teleprompter's blog tomorrow.
Update: Jim Treacher has been on fire on Twitter tonight on this topic. Tammy Bruce said she is going to be reading some of his comments on her radio show tomorrow to show those who are not on Twitter what they are missing. Do you all remember when some comics said the reason they didn't make as many jokes about Obama as they did McCain and other Republicans was because he just wasn't as funny? The past two months he has provided them with a year's worth of material and if you don't believe it just check out Treacher. Heck, the TOTUS jokes alone could be stretched out for months.

If anything, the show just showed the world that Obama has no clue about what is going on. His lack of knowledge was so obvious that even Jay kept trying to help him, but couldn't.
He was gagging for words most of the time and it was pathetic the way kept trying to use "Cantifladas" (ie: nonsense talk) to make-pretend that he had some knowledge about the topic. Then he kept switching topics when he could not come up with an answer.
In conclusion, my view of Obama is now lower than it was before I saw the show. The guy has no clue about anything (love the talk about cars with 150MPH, then selling the "energy generated by the car" to the grid BS) and just proved that he can't speak without a teleprompter or a script.
And how refreshing is to find out that Obama has time to play basketball, go bowling, play games and hang out with his friends.

Werent his actions (per the left) merely consensual sex between adults? As far as Foley with underage pages, hey 12 year olds can make the decision to have an abortion but a 17 year old cant make a decision to have consenual sex. I thought the left didnt have a problem with gays. Are you a homophobe there Justice?
That was my point. The hypocracy of the left especially with the outrage directed against republicans because we dare point out that The Annointed One messed up after the past 8 years of Bush bashing.

I think what president Obama stated about the "special olympics" was disgusting. I have friends who have disabilities. He needs to focus on being "president," if he knows what that is. Sorry guys but I didn't vote for this guy. I think he needs to get his priorities in order. People that are a certain way shouldn't be the brunt of obama's jokes. I think he's trying to hard to fit in.

The stupidest part of Obama's remark, is that every bowling competitor in the Special Olympics could probably kick his butt to the moon:
Special Olympics bowler: I can beat the president!
"He bowled a 129. I bowl a 300. I could beat that score easily," Michigan's Kolan McConiughey (KO-lahn Mc-KAHNA-he) told The Associated Press in an interview Friday.

But umm what was the cry of the left for Barney Frank having a call boy ring out of his apartment. What about Bill Clinton? Werent his actions (per the left) merely consensual sex between adults?
Disgusting & downright sickening as well. It doesn't matter whether it's a republican or democrat....wrong is wrong.
What Bill Clinton did was also morally wrong, because he is married. There was no law broken according to the law of the land. God's law..Yes...but it was between 2 consenting adults.

Lorie, the funny thing is that both you and I will laugh at the antics of MONK over at the USA Network for example, which is a absurd stereotype of many forms of dysfunctional behavior problems by persons suffering from mental illness. Comedy is often inappropriate and makes light of some very sad and serious things.
The first few times I watched MONK, I was slightly offended by the awful stereotypes of mental illness due to my college background in psychology, but I slowly learned to laugh at this program as merely entertainment.
The values of entertainment are not always the same as what is politically correct or right. I realize that fact.

The problem is - comics are paid to be comical. Howard Stern, last I checked, was a shock jock who is SUPPOSED to be offensive. Monk is an ACTOR, paid to act a certain way.

Now how many times have we heard this argument used by the left in explaining away the ENTIRE Clinton Lewinsky episode? A million or so. By the left, the press, Clinton defenders, etc etc etc.
And how many times have you heard republicans say it wasnt about the Sex but about the perjury? At least that many.
If you want to say no law was broken except God's law and you are talking about Clinton please be more specific and state you werent talking about the perjury instead of saying you were just talking about the sex.

It's been long established as a matter of both law and ethics that no consensual relationship can exist within that kind of power disparity. It's always either a quid pro quo arrangement or based on an implicit threat, and is against laws championed by the sort of people who supported Clinton, among others.
So the example given is, an executive may not use the power of his position to coerce sexual favors from underlings, unless they are a Democrat.
