« Obama's Plane Buzzes New York City for Photo Op; Panics New Yorkers | Main | Swine Flu Over The Cuckoo's Nest »

Really Dumb Idea Of The Day...

You would think that the idea of buzzing lower Manhattan with Air Force one and two F-16's for a photo op might have given military officials at the White House cause to consider the symbolic ramification - to say nothing of the possibility for panic - of such a stunt. Apparently not...

This certainly does sound like something brewed up by the tone-deaf numbskulls in this administration. Will ol' Jug Ears sack this clown, or will too many years of voting 'present' in IL keep him spineless?

Caldera will fall on his sword for his one, I think. Guy was a West Point graduate, but spent most his time in the civi world and was a lackluster Clinton Secretary of the Army. Maybe he'll bet booted before the DHS chief.

Lordy, I don't know if our country can survive much more of this.

Can there be any doubt that the left-wing lunatics in this administration live in a 9/10 world? When this stunt was being planned, there wasn't one adult in the room who said, "Wait a minute. Uh. Wasn't there a thing that happened down there with - like, you know - airplanes? Yeah, so, maybe we shouldn't have low flying planes over New York because that might remind people of that thing. And, war planes!? Hell, no."

TOhio:

I don't believe that this was a photo op. Today, when it is so easy to use Adobe Photoshop or some other photo editing software, there was no need to fly the plane in New York to get the photos. They could have taken pictures of the plane anywhere in the sky. Then, they could have taken pictures of the Statue of Liberty on its own. With photo editing software, you can superimpose these photos as if the plane was right there.

So, this begs the question, why was this done?

1. Was it a secret military mission of some sort? The Presidential plane does have a lot of military capabilities and it would not be as obvious to use this jet instead of a real military craft to do something covert.

2. Was it signaling? In other words, was this whole thing done in order to send a message to someone (or some other country) for some reason? If so, who and why?

I'm not buying the photo op story.
