Weekend Caption Contest™ Winners

This week's Weekend Caption Contest™ was another monster hit. The picture this week may have seemed harder to caption than some others, but we ended up with some outstanding captions. The assignment this week was to caption the following picture:

An investigator looks at a plane that crash-landed in a parking lot at the Rockaway Townsquare Mall in Rockaway Township, N.J., Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009. The small plane made an emergency landing in the mall, slightly injuring the instructor and student inside but apparently hurting no one on the ground. (AP Photo/Rich Schultz)

Here are the winning entries:

1) (John) - "Man I hope they got underwear for sale..."

2) (dfbaskwill) - "It's all ball bearings nowadays. That, or the Fetzer Valve."

3) (BluesHarper) - "After closer inspection he determined it was a girl plane."

4) (hpb) - "

It feels a bit like 9/11 at JCPenneys.

"

5) (fustian) - "I see GM is going into light aviation."

6) (sarahconnor2) - "Welcome to Obama Airways. We are continuing our descent"

The Readers Choice Award this week went to John's winning entry. In it's place I offer this most tastelessly funny caption:

(Jeff) - "John F Kennedy, Jr. returns and drops in for his uncle's funeral."

That's all for this weekend. A new edition of the Wizbang Weekend Caption Contest™ will debut Friday morning.

In comedy, Jeff, it's better to err on the side of tasteless so that people can respond 'I can't believe he went there.' I loved it!

Pretzel:

Maybe it's a nod to Matt Cooper's Tweet over the weekend at Teddy's funeral by noting the beautiful weather and dark mood to be like 9/11?

Thanks Peter for posting the link. That's exactly why it amused me.
