I don't think most Democrats realize what a bad place they are in right now. There is still over a year before the mid-term elections, but unless there is a significant change in direction they are going straight over the cliff. I'm not saying that. Charlie Cook is. In somewhat different words.
Listening to two briefings -- one by a Democratic pollster who had just conducted a survey for a group favoring health care reform, the other by a Republican pollster more skeptical of the reform plans -- I felt as if I were hearing a pair of reports by the National Transportation Safety Board on the same plane crash. But in sorting through the problems facing President Obama and congressional Democrats, focusing too narrowly on their disastrous handling of health care would be a mistake..."Terrify." I didn't say it. Charlie Cook did. I really don't think Democrats are fully feeling it yet though. I think they are in shock and denial. And they are so far to the left that I don't know if they are going to be able to move fast enough to the center to save their backsides. Obama has time, but all those congressmen and women facing voters next year are going to have to seriously boogie to get there....With 14 months to go before the 2010 midterm election, something could happen to improve the outlook for Democrats. However, wave elections, more often than not, start just like this: The president's ratings plummet; his party loses its advantage on the generic congressional ballot test; the intensity of opposition-party voters skyrockets; his own party's voters become complacent or even depressed; and independent voters move lopsidedly away. These were the early-warning signs of past wave elections. Seeing them now should terrify Democrats.

Generally speaking, a swimmer does not set out to drown. Instead the swimmer sets out for "that float" or perhaps "that island".
As they swim they may spend too much time assessing how much closer they are to their goal and too little time accessing how their body feels and just how far they have come from the safety of the shore.
Perhaps the lure of the goal blinds them to the reality of their position, until exhaustion, cramps or some other factor ends both their pursuit of that goal and their life.
There is a message in there somewhere, one I think few Dems want/seek or accept.

REMEMBER...the left has power now and WILL NOT relinquish it easily. Look for the 2010 elections to exhibit the most breathtaking records of fraud and voter intimidation imaginable. From the Black Panthers to the "mainstream" media, the left will do ANYTHING to keep voters from the polls. It is imperative that actual Americans be ready to remove thugs and criminals from polling places. Filing complaints on the day after the election will just get a good laugh all around. This is extremely serious. The threat to our republic and our liberty is quite real and must be met with relentless force.

I don't think that the Democrats are scared yet. It took them only nine months to get this low. They are counting on being able to use the next nine months to climb back up. Also, they know that they have ACORN to back them up with cheating at the polls.
In order to save the country, it is going to take a MASSIVE turnout by voters to beat them.
We will have to continue fighting until the very end, which in my opinion is when Obama and the czars are out of Washington for good.
We are going to have to continue this battle for some time. The sooner we face this reality, the stronger we'll all be, because we'll be prepared for it.

Think of it this way - the liberalism in our country is like a cancer. It may be in remission, but it doesn't mean that the cancer is gone. It has to be completely eradicated.
If we are going to save the U.S., we've got to get rid of the liberal mentality that is ruining it.

I dont think Democrats are terrified yet on a daily basis..But the Tea Parties seem to put the fear of God in them. Watch them eat each other as the elections draw closer. They are already biting protesters to their delusion, can hardly wait to see what Eggcorn has in store for 2012.

I agree that the left will not relinquish power easily and already have set in to motion several projects (Fairness Doctrine, Whitehouse takeover of census) to help them in their quest. But mark my words. If the Dem's retain power in congress and there is even the appearence of impropriety; things WILL get ugly, very ugly.

Legal, I'm sure, Rance. The problem is - the bar's been reset on that with the dropping of charges against the Black Panthers. Precedent's a bitch - and it's been set. What wouldn't have been legal or accpetable at all ten years back is now tacitly condoned.
"When you talk about eradicating liberalism, what methods are you advocating?"
Teaching that reality trumps 'reality-based thinking' - showing kids that you can't spend $10 when you only have $5, unless you borrow it... and it ALWAYS has to be paid back somehow. (Guido the Loan Shark would probably be willing to demo that concept.) That how people treat each other, how they act or behave is more important than their skin color, gender or which direction their plumbing points - and teach them that actions have consequences that can't be wished away.

Making sure there is no voter fraud during our elections like there was 2008. I dont know exactly how You accomplish this since like in Florida 2000 there were election officials involved in cheating with diebolds in there trunk and such crapola.
How about no illegals or dead people voting? That would be a good start.

I think that some (only some) of the Democrats get the world of trouble they are in.
Their main problem is they live in a bubble with other like minded individuals who only reinforce their thoughts and beliefs and goals.
One of the reasons I like this blog is that the other side of opinion is tolerated. Sometimes they have good ideas, they keep us all more honest and careful with what we say.
Congress has had no one (including their constituents) to keep them honest and careful for far too long.
