- TerryMoran: Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a "jackass" for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT'S presidential.
Apparently this was an off the record remark, that accidentally got reported. Unlike the Gates incident, Obama called this one as he (and everyone else) sees it.
In case you've been paying attention to nothing but health care and other pressing issues, perennial douchbag Kanye West made a jackass out of himself at MTV's Video Music Awards last night. Wizbang Pop! has the details and video.

Actually it's one of he few things (possibly the only thing) that he's gotten right. Of course the appearance is that he wanted to retract it. Probably didn't want to hurt his track record.

Where was Security? Why was someone allowed to jump onto the stage in the first place? What if this had been some crazy fan with a big knife instead of a crazy performer with a big mouth? What I find interesting is the speedy and groveling way that ABC apologized for publishing what the President felt was an off the record remark.
Contrast Connie Chung asking someone's mother, just between us girls, what they thought about Hillary Clinton. Or an accidentally open mic discussing Adam Clyman...
Neither end of the spectrum is really wrong, in my opinion, but it is interesting to see how different the reaction is when you have a D or an R after your name.
