Obama's "Safe For Pedophiles" School Czar

Most people have never heard of the Obama Administration's "Safe School Czar" Kevin Jennings. But according to this Washington Times editorial, we should be very wary of this man:

A teacher was told by a 15-year-old high school sophomore that he was having homosexual sex with an "older man." At the very least, statutory rape occurred. Fox News reported that the teacher violated a state law requiring that he report the abuse. That former teacher, Kevin Jennings, is President Obama's "safe school czar."

It's getting hard to keep track of all of this president's problematic appointments. Clearly, the process for vetting White House employees has broken down.

In this one case in which Mr. Jennings had a real chance to protect a young boy from a sexual predator, he not only failed to do what the law required but actually encouraged the relationship.

According to Mr. Jennings' own description in a new audiotape discovered by Fox News, the 15-year-old boy met the "older man" in a "bus station bathroom" and was taken to the older man's home that night. When some details about the case became public, Mr. Jennings threatened to sue another teacher who called his failure to report the statutory rape "unethical." Mr. Jennings' defenders asserted that there was no evidence that he was aware the student had sex with the older man.

However, the new audiotape contradicts this claim. In 2000, Mr. Jennings gave a talk to the Iowa chapter of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, an advocacy group that promotes homosexuality in schools. On the tape, Mr. Jennings recollected that he told the student to make sure "to use a condom" when he was with the older man. That he actively encouraged the relationship is reinforced by Mr. Jennings' own description in his 1994 book, "One Teacher in 10." In that account, the teacher boasts how he allayed the student's concerns about the relationship to such a degree that the 15-year-old "left my office with a smile on his face that I would see every time I saw him on the campus for the next two years, until he graduated."

Supporters of Jennings, who founded the New York city-based Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, undoubtedly think of him as a heroic advocate for the rights of unjustly persecuted gay and lesbian students and faculty members in our public schools. But the real Kevin Jennings is a clever political operative who disguised a radical pro-homosexuality agenda as a "safe schools" curriculum designed to end common and generally unacceptable forms of student intimidation.

Jennings' writings clearly express his desire to curtail bullying and discrimination in schools through the introduction of a teaching program that destigmatizes homosexuality, racial differences, income disparity, and other traits that often contribute to the victimization of certain groups of students. But obviously Jennings has no problem going a step further, crossing the line of reasonable objectivity and openly encouraging teens to experiment with homosexual relationships -- including clandestine meetings with middle-aged men.

Writing at Human Events this past June, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council noted:

While Jennings promotes tolerance toward homosexuals, he is unwilling to reciprocate by extending tolerance to those who disagree with him. His memoir, Mama's Boy, Preacher's Son, seethes with bitterness toward Southern Baptists, the country's largest Protestant denomination (within which he was raised). Perhaps that's why, in a speech in a New York church in 2000, Jennings is reported to have said, "We have to quit being afraid of the religious right. . . . I'm trying not to say, '[F---] 'em!' which is what I want to say, because I don't care what they think! Drop dead!"

He wants homosexuality to be taught in American schools -- in his book Always My Child, Jennings calls for a "diversity policy that mandates including LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender] themes in the curriculum." But he wants only one side of this controversial issue to be aired, and apparently believes in locking sexually confused kids into a "gay" identity. That's the implication of his declaration, "Ex-gay messages have no place in our nation's public schools. A line has been drawn. There is no 'other side' when you're talking about lesbian, gay and bisexual students."

Jennings does not limit his promotion of homosexuality in schools only to high schools or middle schools. He wrote the foreword for a book titled Queering Elementary Education, which includes an essay declaring that "'queerly raised' children are agents" using "strategies of adaptation, negotiation, resistance, and subversion."

Kevin Jennings' own personal behavior, when combined with his educational policy goals, paints a vivid picture of an LGBT radical who has no problem with using a government-mandated "safe schools" behavior curriculum to transform our public education system into both a paradise for pedophiles and a medium for cheesy LGBT propaganda infomercials -- "Is the gay lifestyle right for you? Want to learn more? Contact us for more options ..."

He has no business whatsoever serving as any kind of "czar" for our public schools.

But up until it became politically inconvenient, he apparently thought it was just fine for an adult male to have a sexual relationship with an underaged student. Yes, this took place 21 years ago, but he was defending that decision up until he was nominated for the office. The fact that he allows his personal sexuality to cloud his judgement and directly effect his views and goals on education should disqualify him, regardless of what that sexuality is.

It would be just as wrong as someone who defended a similar heterosexual relationship regardless of the gender of the adult or minor. Sure, he has pushed for tolerance in schools, and I do agree with that, teenagers having little to no sense of proportion in expressing disagreement, but his methods, personal goals, and attitude are entirely wrong.

The more it comes out the more it appears that Democrats DO NOT CARE! They see nothing wrong with pedophilia, tax evasion, racism against whites, communism, marxism, socialism, fascism(as long as it isn't a conservative fascist), or stealing from the government.

Apparently the left wishes that we could just get rid of all these "morals" we keep imposing on them and just let them do whatever the hell they want without consequence and pay for it because they don't want to to work for it.

So no, they see no problem with any of Obama's appointments and they think we are crazy for pointing out "minor" flaws. Anything is better than a republican after all.

I absolutely hate to think that the above is true about anyone, because I consider people like that evil and immoral. Not even evil in a religious context, evil in that they care so much about themselves that they could give a flying monkey about what other people do as long as they are left alone to do whatever they want with or to whatever/whoever they want.

I WANT to believe that Obama is not evil, that he is not intentionally driving this country into the ground so he can remake it into his version of a socialist paradise. But the evidence keeps mounting.

I WANT to believe that he is not an antichrist. But accepting people who worship and pray to him with a shrug or a smile. And acting like he knows all and his word is law... Soon he will start healing the sick and it will be proven...

There are several people who in times past would have spent considerable time in prison. Van Jones had been in prison. One would think being a felon might just disqualify you from a white house appointment. Had the American people known the truth about this President, he would never have been elected. The media is a fault but voters have the ultimate responsiblity to find out who and what they are voting for. The information on Obama was available. Mostly on the web. Questions were not asked, except by the likes of Joe the Plumber. Not even O'Reilly asked real tough questions like what was his relationship with Frank M. Davis, a communist? Why is it his school records are not public information? He fooled us once, shame on him. If he fools us twice. Shame on us.

counterpoint:

The Washington Times chimed in with two separate editorials on Jennings in one week. The first recapitulated the Fox story and called for Jennings's resignation. Once again the article referred to Jennings's "utter contempt for religion." The second, published just two days later, complained of a "double standard" in the treatment of former Rep. Mark Foley and Mr. Jennings. Mr. Jennings, who is gay, has received criticism for a story he has told about a male student who came to him for counseling early in his teaching career. The boy said he had been in a relationship with an older man and had taken dangerous sexual chances. The Washington Times editorial takes the opportunity to equate Jennings's possible breach of ethics in failing to report what the student said to Mr. Foley's continued sexual pursuit of male congressional pages:

"Whether the press feeding frenzy around Mr. Foley's disgrace was justified or not, the explosion of coverage was certainly understandable, even predictable. That reality is what makes coverage of Kevin Jennings, President Obama's 'safe school czar' something of a mystery. Mr. Jennings brings all the sleaze of Mr. Foley."

Sex and the underaged? Check. An older man? Check. Potential misbehavior by a government official? Check.

Of course, in Jennings's case, the events the Washington Times refers to happened more than 20 years ago. The reason the comments are available to smear him with is because Mr. Jennings spoke publicly about them in speeches and in an interview. Mr. Jennings has brought the incident up to show compassion for closeted students who engage in dangerous behavior when they don't feel comfortable coming out.

Mr. Foley, on the other hand, engaged in actual harassment of 16-year-olds while he was in office. The Washington Times is walking a fine line with this kind of righteous relativism. Immediately after the second editorial appeared, WND.com ran a piece on it with the headline, "'Safe Schools' Chief Encouraged Child Sex with Older Man."

Mainstream media have begun to pick up the narrative as well. On September 30, ABC's White House correspondent, Jake Tapper, posted a blog saying that Jennings "expressed regret today" for his failure to act on the student's apparent abuse. Curiously, WND.com posted an article directly contradicting Tapper with the headline "Obama's 'gay' appointee: I'd handle the student differently. But...declines to express 'regret.'" The WND article did, however, make use of quotations from the comments section of Tapper's blog to demonstrate public outrage. A few hours later, the Associated Press ran a short item using the same protracted quotation from the dialogue between Jennings and the student that has been used in all of the right wing attacks against him. Matt Drudge of "The Drudge Report" linked to the item the same day and when on Thursday morning Mike Allen picked up the item for his morning POLITICO Playbook e-mail it became a sure thing that the controversy over Jennings made the big time by the day's end.

Unlike the Jones and ACORN cases, we've received no new information in any of these accusations. All the right has done is repeat accusations made against Jennings by the Family Research Council who began the "Stop Kevin Jennings" campaign and the accompanying website, StopJennings.org, back in June. But so long as the mainstream media invites the lunatic fringe to set its agenda, our politics will remain in thrall to a man who claims that Obama retains a deep-seated hatred against his own white mother, and invites black school kids to beat up white ones because, well, just because...

That can't be why they got into journalism in the first place.

Lunatic fringe, religious bigots - it's quite a handful, but that's what's at work here. Gay bashing in an attempt to harm the black president - such sport!
