President Obama will let the Russians inspect our nukes, a clear sign that America is now in the submissive position with Russia. Obama is the Beta male submitting us to the Alpha. Why doesn't Obama just make it official and just hand over the keys to the White House to our enemies and get the whole thing over with. From Fox News (emphasis mine):
Russia and the United States have tentatively agreed to a weapons inspection program that would allow Russians to visit nuclear sites in America to count missiles and warheads. The plan, which Fox News has learned was agreed to in principle during negotiations, would constitute the most intrusive weapons inspection program the U.S. has ever accepted.
Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who met with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, said publicly Tuesday that the two nations have made "considerable" progress toward reaching agreement on a new strategic arms treaty.
The 1991 Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, or START, expires in December and negotiators have been racing to reach agreement on a successor.
Clinton said the U.S. would be as transparent as possible.
"We want to ensure that every question that the Russian military or Russian government asks is answered," she said, calling missile defense "another area for deep cooperation between our countries."
And Obama hasn't been in office for one year yet. What will he give away next year and the year after that? Is there a line that Obama can cross that will send even his most fervent and sycophantic supporters scurrying for the shadows? If so, I'd love to hear it.
Update:I just saw on Fox News Channel that the Baucus proposal that was voted out of the Finance Committee, which Bill Sammon calls a vapor bill because doesn't exist on paper as it's only a concept, is not even close to what the Senate will eventuall vote on. That bill is being written by top Democrats and Rahm Emanuel in Harry Reid's office and will be rushed to the floor for a vote next week.
So, Obama allows the Russians unfettered access to our nukes, yet he and the Democrats are going to the ends of the earth to hide the details of the health care bill that Americans will be required to live with and pay for should it pass. Why? Because they don't like being held accountable by the American people even though they work for the American people. You try being this secretive with your boss and see how far it gets you.

I recently had the misfortune to interact with a few of Barry Lackwit's 'most fervent and syncophantic supporters'. Based on that experience, my answer to the above question is "no."

No problem in making the broad ideological speech but in action I think it is this president's objective to take as much of a submissive/subordinate/blend in with the crowd position as possible. If any decision can possibly lead to a bad result he does not want to own it. In domestic policy he can be more easily covered by his party of legislators and fashioning lies about the opposition which is basically powerless at this point. He dumps on the nations that have proven to be long term. loyal allies and caters to dictators who have the capacity to cause him to sweat. Like the wimp who offers fealty to the playground bully so he doesn't get the crap kicked out of him.

So, does that mean the U.S. can count Russian warheads? If so, it's probably because the Russians hope the Americans can find all the ones they misplaced.
I wonder if the Russians will be allowed to inspect the facilities at Area 51? If not, they can't be sure they've counted all the warheads. The press should ask about that.
One way for Obama to earn his peace prize is to make sure America doesn't have any teeth. It's going to cost trillions of dollars to rebuild our military once Obama is gone, assuming there's anything left of the nation.

Haven't the Russians done a 180 on that 'commitment'? Europe doesn't get a defense against missiles from either Iran or Russia. Obama gets a Nobel Prize for his 'peaceful intentions'.

Allowing the Russians to pinpoint the locations of our arsenals comes at the same time that the Russians are saying this:
MOSCOW (AP) - A top Russian security official says Moscow reserves the right to conduct pre-emptive nuclear strikes to safeguard the country against aggression on both a large and a local scale, according to a newspaper interview published Wednesday.
Presidential Security Council chief Nikolai Patrushev also singled out the U.S. and NATO, saying Moscow's Cold War foes still pose potential threats to Russia despite what he called a global trend toward local conflicts.

Not so. We have never let the Russians actually visit the sites and count the warheads. Besides, the Russions would never believe we won't cheat by keeping hidden warheads. Thus, the entire agreement is a farce designed by Russia to give Russia more opportunity to steal military secrets. That's something they are way better at then us.

Um... seriously?
We took a delegation of inspectors from the Minot WSA directly to the silo, (of their choosing) where they were granted access, and inspected the missile and warheads to ensure start compliance, which stated only 1 warhead per missile is allowed to be nuclear.
After the inspection, the russians were escorted to WalMart, where they purchased a lot of jeans.

Um... Yes, seriously. What you discribe is not what Russia and the United States have just now tentatively agreed to. A spot inspection to insure there was only 1 warhead on a land based ICBM is not the same as taking an inventory of every missile and every warhead. Such an inventor means giving the Russians access to our boomer subs and the missiles they carry. That's unprecedented.

Can't we just streamline this? Give Iran a few of our smaller nukes, nothing fancy, just enough to take care of Israel and let them work it out. Stop sending money and aid to Africa, if they want to kill each other or actually set up functioning states, let them get on with it instead of babying them with handouts to dictators and warlords. See if Pakistan or India has the bigger set and let them work things out on their own. Knock down the dams and let the fishies swim free, make people convert their lawns to Victory (over global warming) Gardens instead of irrigating the parts of America that feed the rest. Stop fiddling around and just nationalize industry and put the unions in charge instead of one at a time. Tell China they can go ahead and 'deal' with any breakaways as long as they don't advertise it too much. Deploy the navy to stop oil shipments to the US so we have no choice but to burn our rhododendrons for heat this winter and hope the solar panel from WalMart can run our AM radio for Obama's weekly 'We Can Be So Proud We Saved The Planet' speeches. Tell Putin he can retake the SSRs and we won't get involved - not our business. Recall the border patrol and put them to work signing people up for social services. Package a bunch of bills together that will effectively neuter the bill of rights, nothing too extreme, just enough that Kennedy will vote to uphold them and stop the parade of endless lawsuits about every statue or display or plaque or BongHits4Obama poster or searches, grants Constitutional rights to all Citizens Of The Planet - since we're all one people and all that, including beavers and frogs and lakes and birch trees.
