For some time now, conservatives have been referring to the overly-Obama-friendly American news media as "state run media." It seems that their claim has now been verified:
President Obama's presidential campaign focused on "making" the news media cover certain issues while rarely communicating anything to the press unless it was "controlled," White House Communications Director Anita Dunn disclosed to the Dominican government at a videotaped conference."Very rarely did we communicate through the press anything that we didn't absolutely control," said Dunn.
"One of the reasons we did so many of the David Plouffe videos was not just for our supporters, but also because it was a way for us to get our message out without having to actually talk to reporters," said Dunn, referring to Plouffe, who was Obama's chief campaign manager.
"We just put that out there and made them write what Plouffe had said as opposed to Plouffe doing an interview with a reporter. So it was very much we controlled it as opposed to the press controlled it," Dunn said.
Continued Dunn: "Whether it was a David Plouffe video or an Obama speech, a huge part of our press strategy was focused on making the media cover what Obama was actually saying as opposed to why the campaign was saying it, what the tactic was. ... Making the press cover what we were saying."
Video of Ms. Dunn making those remarks is also included in the link.
You may be thinking, "Wow, that was an incredibly controlled handling of the media during the campaign. Why couldn't the Republicans have put together something like that?" Of course the answer is very simple -- that kind of media control doesn't happen without the willful consent and participation of the news media itself. And only Democrats will ever garner that kind of sympathetic treatment from the mainstream media.
This probably explains the Obama Administration's ongoing war with Fox News. Right now I'm betting that Fox News was the only major television or newspaper news outlet that refused to let Team Obama pierce its nose with a gold ring and lead it around on a rope.
Nor is it a surprising revelation from a woman who recently talked at length about her admiration for the political philosophies of Mao Tse Tung.
And liberals wonder why Fox News has twice the prime time viewership of CNN and MSNBC combined ...

McCain on a blogger conference call:
The WWS: "How you doin' Senator?"
McCain: "You know Michael, in the words of Chairman Mao, it's always darkest before it's totally black...(laughing)
McCain in New Hampshire:
Despite the meltdown of his near-bankrupt campaign, McCain showed no outward signs of despair--not even when one reporter impishly asked him whether we have a better chance of winning in Iraq than he does at winning the nomination. I braced for a flash of McCain's famous temper, but instead he just chuckled. "In the words of Chairman Mao, it's always darkest before it's black," McCain cracked.
McCain on Letterman:
"I think we had some difficulties and righted the ship," McCain told Letterman. "For a while there, I was reminded of the words of Chairman Mao, who said it's always darkest before it's totally black."

Good grief, Adrian. Mao never said the "quote" McCain used.
http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Mao_Zedong
That was obviously a joke McCain used. Quite a contrast to Dunn, who correctly quotes Mao (I guess), uses his quote to inspire high school kids, and says that Mao is one of her favorite "political philosophers" and one of the two people she turns to most.

Now, one can debate whether the White House's decision to treat Fox News like a partisan propaganda outlet is wise or not. I believe it's the right call. But putting that aside, It was, after all, George W. Bush who became the first modern president to refuse literally every interview request from the New York Times over the span of nine years.
For that matter, the Bush White House went after NBC News in May 2008, accusing the network of deceptive editing and blurring the lines between "news" and "opinion." Officials from the Bush team began treating NBC and MSNBC as political opponents.
Where was the outrage then? Both parties do it, guess it depends on which party you support. They are all crooks and liars.

But you see, typical democrat voters only skim the news. They take words at face value and vehemently believe what they are told without questioning the motives or the "facts" behind the message.
So by making the media focus on "what we are saying" and not "why we are saying it" they are able to sidestep any issue with facts, background, or truth in general.
As for Chairman Mao... There is a big difference between quoting someone and admitting that they are one of your favorite philosophers, someone you turn to first for guidance. I am sure many many people quote things they have heard and have no idea where the saying came from. I actually make it a hobby of mine to find out where sayings and quotes came from, but usually they are humorous not monstrous.

If Dunn were one woman on her own, then that quote could be dismissed. But when taken along with her fellow unconfirmed Presidential Advisers who all have socialist backgrounds or leanings it becomes another piece of evidence that if Obama is NOT a socialist then he is stupid enough to let socialists use him for their own ends.

(a) Anita Dunn is not the lone avowed socialist/communist that Obama has surrounded himself with. She is the RULE, not the exception.
(b) these are graudating High School students...very impressionable...that she is speaking to with the voice of authority. She cites him as someone who guides her political philosophy.
p.s. she lied to Jake Tapper a day after the video broke saying: "I was just joking" (in the video)

Could you provide a link to anyone who asserted that Obama "faked his own birth certificate"?
I was under the impression that one of the actual suggestions by some was that Obama might have been born outside of the United States.
Further, I heard others suggest that Obama had been born in the US, but was purposely not releasing the actual birth certificate in order to allow some of his critics to discredit themselves.
I don't believe I ever heard anyone claim that Obama "faked his own birth certificate".
