Hope and Strange

Yesterday, I wrote a piece regarding the attempt by the New York Times to puff-up and portray Obama as a chest-beating, alpha-male machine.

That was just the half of it.

Aside from the shameless and embarrassing man-crush that Times author Mark Leibovich exudes toward Obama, the article suggests that some female colleagues are a bit miffed, feeling as though some sort of gender-bias exists within the White House clan.

The Obama White House has been battling a boys' club image . The suspicion flared in recent weeks -- and not for the first time -- after President Obama was criticized by women's advocates and liberal bloggers for hosting a high-level basketball game with no female players. The technical foul over the all-male game has become a nagging concern for a White House that has battled an impression dating to the presidential campaign that Mr. Obama's closest advisers form a boys' club and that he is too frequently in the company of only men -- not just when playing sports, but also when making big decisions. While the senior adviser Valerie Jarrett is undeniably one of the president's closest White House confidantes, some women inside or close to the administration complain that Mr. Obama's female advisers are not as visible as their male colleagues or, they suspect, as influential.

As if to prove just how sensitive and paranoid Obama is toward even the slightest knock on his image, the next day he just happened to include a woman to join in a game of golf.

From The Chicago Sun-Times:

The golf game was notable in that the presidential foursome included, for the first time a female, Melody Barnes, the president's chief domestic policy advisor. The foursome: Obama, Barnes, Obama pal Eric Whitaker, the physician who is an executive vice president at the University of Chicago Medical Center and Marvin Nicholson, the White House trip director.

The vanity meter just exploded. One need not require any more proof that Obama is a vapid, image-obsessed prima-donna with skin as thin as his executive resume.

Add this to his playground squabble with Fox news, and you get a spoiled, narcissistic wuss with a big mouth.

This just in:

Obama to participate in knitting class to show he is a champion of the Yarn Lovers of America.

A card carrying Communist, narcissist wussy doing everything he possibly can to usurp every and all freedom/privacy that the Constitution protects.

He didn't attend Harvard to study the Constitution, he studied at the lip-locked rear-end of Laurence Tribe, Cornel West, Charles Ogletree and other treasonous/racist nutcases hellbent on "fundamentally changing America".

This is the best the Times can come up with to criticize their god? This isn't "news," it's idiocy. Then again, it is very in-line with their childish attacks on President Bush for everything under the sun, so maybe it's just their idea of investigative reporting?

No wonder they're going bankrupt.

I've heard that Obama has played more golf in 9 months than Bush played in three years. Is that true?

We're now losing a war in A-stan and in the worst economy in 70 years, ... and Obama's out playing a rich man's sport???

Can someone explain that?

Les - It's Bush's fault. All of it. Just ask pretender-in chief. He will be more than happy to tell you how all of it is Bush's fault. He's used that same statement for 10 months, and it's hasn't failed him yet, so he keeps on using it. After the 3rd month, he owned everything but won't admit it.

We have soldiers in harm's way in Afghanistan and he's bothering with this trifling nonsense instead? What a tool we've (well someone voted for him - not me)put in the Oval office! He has no scruples, no morals, no ethics, no character and no preparation that equips him to govern this nation!

Obama has now played as many rounds of golf in 9 months as Bush did in 3 YEARS.

The castigation from the Left over this lack of focus in 3...2...1... oops, Obama has the (D) after his name, and thus cannot be faulted for this or anything else.

Heck, Golf Digest should name him Golfer of the Year!!

Yup, Obama has so much time he can play golf all he wants, and appear on late night shows and campaign, campaign, campaign.

He also has allocated time to fly to Oslo in December to accept his Nobel Peace Prize.

Strangely enough, he will not be attending the November 9th celebrations of the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. According to Germany's Spiegel, He's too busy to make it.

As for the golf game including a woman...
One group Obama always kowtows to are the feminists. See the stimulus, Anita Dunn and of course, Mrs Obama for more.
