Just 38% of voters now favor the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That's the lowest level of support measured for the plan in nearly two dozen tracking polls conducted since June. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 56% now oppose the plan.
Half the survey was conducted before the Senate voted late Saturday to begin debate on its version of the legislation. Support for the plan was slightly lower in the half of the survey conducted after the Senate vote.
Prior to this, support for the plan had never fallen below 41%. Last week, support for the plan was at 47%. Two weeks ago, the effort was supported by 45% of voters.
Intensity remains stronger among those who oppose the push to change the nation's health care system: 21% Strongly Favor the plan while 43% are Strongly Opposed.
How might the Left be reacting if a Republican President and a Republican Congress were attempting to foist a policy on America that was as unpopular as this one?
Can you imagine the fallout? Can you imagine the press the Republicans would be garnering?
And yet Obama, Pelosi, Reid and their like-minded cohorts and compadres keep shoveling this shish kabob at America as if there were throngs waiting in line for it.
If the elections in 2010 aren't the harbingers of doom for the Democrats that I expect them to be, then understand that it'll be this once great country that is doomed.

The more of these polls I see, the more I'm reminded of another recent popular-in-Congress-but-hated-by-the-public bill. Remember the 2007 Shamnesty act? Three times the Senate tried to pass it in different forms, and all three times it failed. The last version died on a cloture motion which didn't even get a majority, much less sixty votes.

It goes to show you they are in it for the power and not to do the will of the hard working tax paying people, they are playing up to the left and the give me something I don't want to be responsible type mentality.

They seem awfully confident that ACORN and SEIU can save their asses at the ballot box next November...
But it is amazing to me that the Democrats are so willing to push such unpopular and expensive legislation on the American public. They seem so incredibly tone deaf even for them that one has to question their true motives.

Just a couple of weeks ago one of the trolls was telling us how we were not following the will of the people because of a single Gallup poll from October. Right now ALL of the polls including Gallup show strong disapproval of Healthcare reform.
Latest Polls
Rasmussen: 38% Favor, 56% Oppose
Gallup: 43% Favor, 48% Oppose
Quinnipac: 41% Favor, 53% Oppose
Fox News/Opinion Dynamics: 35% Favor; 51% Oppose

More and more I'm thinking the folks pushing this know EXACTLY what they're doing. They're not listening - and acting like they're never going to need to listen to the voters again.
Are we looking at people who believe they can - or that believe they HAVE - set themselves up as an unchallengable ruling class?

"They seem so incredibly tone deaf...."
It's because their ego's are involved now. They can't back down from all the bullshit they've spouted. To do so would be admitting error. So they'll continue to LIE TO US and juggle the numbers, hoping like hell that they'll be enjoying a taxpayer funded retirement by the time the public discovers the true costs.
HINT: Start leaning to speak Chinese.

When you add up the polls, it is 157% in favor!! Obviously with those kind of numbers being in favor, you must push forward with reform. How can you go wrong when 157% are in favor of something?
