Now it's Barbara Boxer playing the "I'm an idiot" card

Earlier in the week, it was Harry Reid.

Who in hell elects these people?

As abortion took center stage in the Senate's historic debate over health care reform, Sen. Barbara Boxer was right in the middle of the fight, comparing an effort to limit women's access to abortion to restricting men's access to Viagra.

Her combative stance on the issue was a familiar one for the third-term Democrat, whose support of abortion rights has been central to her political career.

"Why are women being singled out here? It's so unfair," Boxer said on the Senate floor Tuesday. "We don't tell men that if they want to ... buy insurance coverage through their pharmaceutical plan for Viagra that they can't do it."

Boxer was weighing in against an amendment offered by Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Neb., that would greatly restrict abortion services for women buying individual insurance through a new health care insurance exchange. Although the amendment was rejected in a 54-45 vote, it was not the last word on the issue.

Largely mirroring a provision passed by the House last month as part of its health care overhaul bill, Nelson's proposal would bar abortion coverage for anyone who receives taxpayer subsidies to buy health insurance. Those who pay for health insurance completely on their own would have to purchase a separate "rider" in order to have abortion services covered.

"This amendment would be the biggest rollback to a woman's right to choose in decades," Boxer said Monday. "What have women done to deserve this?"

What pray tell does this line of thinking tell us about the thinker?

I ask the question seriously.

What pray tell?

I'd tell Babs fine by me if you don't want to cover Viagra medication for men in government run health care. However she gonna have to realize it is going to get more difficult to find a guy to get it up for her if he is going to have to pay the full price.

Babs is a full time stark raving mad moonbat.
She blazes paths that no one in their right mind would dare tread.

With any luck and a fair amount of effort on the conservative side she's going to be 'retired' and back in public life.

For the time being, health insurance is a private contract, and the parties to the contract can agree to whatever the heck they want to agree to.

Didn't mean to cut into your Viagra supply but my premium for health insurance encompasses this and a bunch of other meds taken by a whole host of people for a whole host of illnesses. If health insurance was allowed to be sold across state lines and was not offered by an employer, then costs would come down because coverage can be more personalized like car insurance and cell phones.

What dishonesty!!

So...the government is forcing insurance companies now to provide for abortions in their coverage now? And the federal government is now paying for abortion on demand? No? Well then how is it a "roll back" to a woman's right to choose?

They would have you think that some kind of a change is taking place, when there would be NO CHANGE if the government does not pay for or force in some way insurance companies to pay for abortions.

The federal government does not pay for abortions on demand now and as far as I and many other people are concerned if the government is mandating what kind of insurance has to be offered and has to be bought they are regulating the insurance company so they have no business providing ways for women to get "free" abortions.
