On the bright side, this gave me my first good laugh of the day.

And I know he can do it because I got straight "A" grades throughout grade school and high school and was carrying a 4.0 into my senior year of college. Back when I was in school you got a grade, period. Later, maybe concurrent with Obama's time in school, professors were marking students as, "incomplete." Honestly, that would be the best mark I could give our President. On most points of HIS agenda he hasn't accomplished s**t. In terms of what he has done to improve on the matters constitutionally directed to his attention - he has done even less. So how could anyone, including Obama, give him any other mark?

But RB (#9) has it right. There is no way any other president in my memory would have answered that question in any other way. From the politically astute to the bumbling inept, they would all have deferred. Obama is truly in a class of his own (and that ain't a complement).

Obama pulled the nation out of the worst recession since the Great Depression.

He also rescued the banking system from imminent collapse.

Let's see - he's getting us out of Iraq and despite the frantic calls from the right a year ago the world isn't ending by us leaving Iraq.

1) A majority party riddled with the centrists chased off by the ideologically pure Republicans.

2) The most irresponsible and immature minority party in more than a century.

Given that, B or B+ is pretty much on the money.

I have a question, Steve. If the U.S. economy drifts into another recession next year, that will still be Bush's fault, won't it?

Wait, I have another question, Steve. What exactly did President Obama do to pull America out of recession? It can't be the stimulus package because America has lost jobs every month since it was passed. It can't be the auto company bailouts since neither GM or Chrysler is profitable again. So, what was it that Obama did?

I'm not worried about who's fault the recession was - but clearly Bush didn't pull us out of the the recession - Obama did.

I thought the article was about grading Obama's performance.

That was EASY to say wasn't it? Just as easy for obama and the rest of his economic team.

But where's the proof?

The empirical evidence that what he's done has turned anything around. It can be said just as easily that whatever turnaround has occurred at this point is just the normal economic cycle.

Got any s green? More from you: "I'm not worried about who's fault the recession was - but clearly Bush didn't pull us out of the the recession - Obama did."

Didn't watch the Sunday news shows did you? One obama econ official said the recession was over, another on another Sunday show said it wasn't.

Bwahahahahahaha! This admin... (Below threshold)
Clay:

Bwahahahahahaha! This administration is tanking and threatening to take the entire Democrat party with it. The water carriers are here in defense, causing me to spew coffee all over my keyboard again. Here's the funniest: The most irresponsible and immature minority party in more than a century. Seriously? Well, gawrsh, let's just look at this in the context of the here and now. The Democrats have what they have long-coveted: a 60-seat supermajority in the upper chamber, and the ability to pass legislation without a single Republican vote, unfettered by filibusters and free to put its consensus directly on President Obama's desk. The Republicans are irrelevant (perhaps, but that has less to do with numbers), yet you refuse to lay blame on the Democrats who are failing their party in epic fashion. You have ZERO credibility.

Now, how about some context from the past? The most irresponsible and immature minority party, you say? Well, I'd say they have plenty of competition for the title. Who can forget when Rep. John Conyers Jr. (D-Mich.) assembled long-suffering House Democrats in the Capitol basement and took a trip to the land of make-believe? Remember? Pretending a small conference room was the Judiciary Committee hearing room, they draped white linens over folding tables to make them look like witness tables and brought in cardboard name tags and extra flags to make the whole thing look official. Conyers banged a large wooden gavel and insisted the other lawmakers call him "Mr. Chairman" during this mock impeachment inquiry. Not surprisingly, all of the witnesses testified that President Bush lied to the nation and, therefore, was guilty of high crimes. Conyers was having so much fun at play that he didn't notice aides' requests to end the imagination-laden session.

Ohmigawd. I could go on and on. Do you want me to?
