Janet Napolitano will be pleased to know that the system worked again when a second Nigerian man was taken into custody after locking himself in the bathroom of a plane in Detroit. This was the same flight that was almost blown up on Christmas Day.
According to reports, the Christmas Day bomber locked himself in the bathroom for about 20 minutes before he came back to his seat and ignited the explosive.
Janet Napolitano said that there was no indication that the Christmas Day terrorist attack was part of a larger plot. She would be wise to wait and find out if this second man had any connections to Abdulmutallab before she repeats that line.
Update: More from Fox News:
Police have arrested a Nigerian man who reportedly became verbally disruptive and barricaded himself in the bathroom of a Detroit-bound Northwest Airlines flight on Sunday.Several police vehicles and a police command unit have surrounded a plane at Detroit's Metro Airport, after the pilot of a Detroit-bound Northwest Airlines flight requested emergency help.
Two sources tell Fox News that the suspect boarded a plan in Lagos with no baggage, and said the FBI has already sent an email alert to other federal agencies notifying them of the incident.
The source said the man taken into custody at the Detroit airport was a Nigerian man in his 30s. Federal officials know who the suspect is, but won't provide any more details. He allegedly barricaded himself in the plane's bathroom for an hour.
The man said he was sick. I'm not inclined to believe him. He didn't have any luggage, just like Abdulmutallab. He was on Northwest flight 253 from Amsterdam to Detroit, just like Abdulmutallab. What a coincidence.

While it is true that people do travel sans luggage, it is the exception rather than the rule and typically occurs on short hop flights and not international.

You can take you self righteousness and stuff it. The fact is that profiling in some cases IS appropriate. Just because some crooked cop wants to pull over minorities and give them traffic citations because he's a bigot doesn't mean that in this case it isn't appropriate.

I call BS on your reasoning, Sabre. I believe if he were a lilly white Norwegian (as suggested by another commenter) he would have gotten the same treatment for the same behavior. This has nothing to do with political correctness other than its a stupid attempt to derail the thread for your ignominious and turd-headed agenda.
Now if he'd been a Swede, well, MAYBE one would believe the GI disturbance was from too much lute fish.

"Is there anyone here who is stupid enough to believe that this man wasn't arrested because he's Nigerian?" Sabre #28
How is this not suggesting that his arrest was not racially motivated? If that is not what you were saying then retract it and explain yourself. But you just keep doubling down like an idiot.
You clearly attributed his arrest to his race. You discounted anything else as a reason for his arrest.
"If he'd been white he wouldn't have been arrested."
Yes you did say that this was evidence that political correctness was not impeding his arrest, but the main point of other people was that political correctness prevented the terrorist on Dec 25 from being properly screened and it is preventing authorities in general from focusing their energies on people who are most likely to commit these sort of acts.
However, my point was that you claimed that the individual today was arrested solely because of his race and for no other reason. You claimed that if he were white he would not have been arrested. I claimed that following the 25th he would have been arrested based on his actions regardless. I have also stated that better profiling and scrutiny of people who fit that profile may have actually prevented his arrest by actually doing something to exclude the possibility of his being a terrorist. The fact that people conclude that his actions were those of a terrorist is sufficient proof that the public does not have any confidence in the measures that authorities are taking regarding airline safety.

"However, my point was that you claimed that the individual today was arrested solely because of his race and for no other reason."
No, I didn't claim that was the sole reason. I said the fact that he was Nigerian and was arrested proves that political correctness did not prevent him from being arrested.
You have to be one of the dumbest clucks around.
"You claimed that if he were white he would not have been arrested."
No, I didn't claim that at all. I said the fact that he was Nigerian and was arrested proves that political correctness did not prevent him from being arrested.
"The fact that people conclude that his actions were those of a terrorist is sufficient proof that the public does not have any confidence in the measures that authorities are taking regarding airline safety."

Sabre, that is a direct quote. Please explain how it does not mean that if the person were white and not Nigerian he would not have been arrested? Please explain how you are claiming that he was not arrested because of his race?
Please stop drinking before you post. You're not coherent.

That does not say "In part because he is Nigerian"
if you had admitted that you had misstated your opinion you wouldn't look like such an ass.
Otherwise you are sitting here saying in one post that only an idiot would think that he wasn't arrested because of his race and in another post saying that you don't think his race played any part in it.
Frankly I don't really care what you think because you have already demonstrated that like most liberals your thinking is not logical or consistent. My conclusion is that you espouse whatever opinion allows you to take what you feel is the moral high ground without actually considering the consequences of that position. You do not bother to think about your beliefs long enough to determine whether they conflict with each other or not.
