The success of "Ellie Light" and "Mark Spivey" in getting their letters to the editor published is pretty darn impressive. The next time you hear someone on the left accuse the parents who make signs with their young kids and load up the strollers and juice boxes and travel to tea parties at their own expense of being astroturf, remind them of Ellie Light. Or Mark Spivey. Most media outlets require a full name, home address and phone number for verification purposes as part of their "Letter to the Editor" policies. Many policies also include a provision that the letter be written to that particular paper only, not to multiple recipients. Evidently such policies were not followed in the cases of Ellie Light and Mark Spivey. Follow the links above to Patterico and Dan Riehl for updated counts and details about the trails left by each.
Update: Ellie Light responds.

When the White House sends "Missus Doubtfire" Gibbs to FOX NEWS SUNDAY to face C. Wallace, they are going all in. For the cadre of "O" advisers to go out and re-explain the re-explanation of what the "O" wants to achieve, now that he has failed in everything, smells and looks like desperation. The Republicans need to resist the temptation of reaching out in order to appear non-partisan. Nothing worse than a chump, that remains a chump.

The GOP response on health care should be that it is a non-issue. It polls like crap. The public has spoken clearly that it does not want Obamacare or anything like it. What does concern the public is jobs and the economy.
The answer is that there is no bipartisan solution for health care 'reform' that the issue at hand is getting the economy going again and restraining government spending. Neither of those issues interests Obama because the only jobs he wants to create are government jobs that he can control and cutting spending means he can't pay off all his friends like he has been for the past year.
Obama's response to Massachusetts shows that he is completely oblivious to what is going on in America and that what is going on doesn't matter to him or play any part in his formulating his policies.
His policies are formed based on ideology and therefore will work no matter what is actually happening in the real world. He is bent on reorganizing society into a socialist utopia and isn't interested in people's lives. His interest is in how society looks and not about the lives of individual Americans.

I heard about Ellie thru a blog I was reading yesterday and imagine my surprise when I opened our local paper (Las Cruces Sun News) and Ellie Light happened to have a letter to the editor. I went online and did some research and found 12 separate letters she wrote (all identical) with 12 separate cities of residence. Obviously there is something shady going on, and I smell a liberal skunk.

I've found even more examples with different names and letters. Tried posting this over at Patterico's but his site seems to be having issues.
In the Austin American Statesmen on Nov 16 a Robert Stephenson wrote.
"On Nov. 7, a bipartisan majority of the House made history by passing a health bill.
After nearly a century of false starts, this was the first time a chamber of Congress has ever passed comprehensive health insurance reform.
Representatives who voted for this bill deserve thanks for resisting tremendous pressure from the insurance industry lobbyists and standing up for their constituents.
Those who did not vote for the bill have one last opportunity to reconsider and support reform in the upcoming final House vote -- and they should do so.
A vote for this bill was a vote to provide secure and stable coverage for Americans with insurance, expand coverage for those who do not have insurance, lower costs for families and businesses, and begin to reduce the deficit."

I've sent the links to both of the letters page editors. The San Diego Union has already been Mark Spivey'd. Also suggested they have reporters do stories on this so as to nip it in the bud now, or standby for a flood of Axelturf letters during the fall elections.

I don't care who these people are or what they think they can accomplish. The country is not going for "O"s agenda. This may be a trite comment but, actions speak louder than words. "O"s actions say, "Big Government socialism and a lagging economy with high unemployment". America is taking action and "O" is feisty?

In general, it is interesting that this desperation is so easily traced. C'mon folks, a little extra work and the e-mail version can be traced to a common ISP for all these Astro-Spammers. A review of the printed letters would take a little more time, but it would be interesting. I'd like to know if there were postmarks on the mailed letters and where they came from, and to see if they all came from the same printer and paper, etc. Somewhere there must be enough pissed off newspaper editors who would work together on this! [And that says something to the level of disapproval the current administration has sunk to.]

Health care is Obama's personal political self indungance. The public is more worried about JOBS right now, they do not see how HC fits into getting them back to work.As for the green movemenr, the environment will always by the cause of the wealthy liberal elite, supermodels and hollywood. When you are out of work and have a family to feed, slappy the squirrel can go to hell.
He cares more about feeding his own urges than doing the job the voters voted him in to do. So far his only defense has been "Things could have been worse, if I did not act." He won an election promising to make things better not less worse, that is what his supporters expected.
Do you think in 2012 all those 18 year olds who voted for him in 2008 will be there 4 years later when they are our of college or dragging our their senior year because the job market has nothing to offer for college graduates?
