Seraphic Secret provides the substantiation:
Several weeks ago, Karen and I visited old and beloved friends in New Jersey. A long-married couple, our friends are Democrats, but that has never diminished our affection and loyalty. Usually, we don't discuss politics, but the issue of so-called global warming came up. When Karen and I expressed skepticism, our friends were, literally, horrified.
"You don't believe in global warming?"
From their irate tone and expressions, you would think that Karen and I had just--G-d forbid--denied the Holocaust.
We shook our heads and suggested that Climategate should, at least, give pause to their faith in a science that supports global warming/climate change/whatever they're calling it this week.
Our friends had no idea what we were talking about.
"The science is settled," they insisted
And that was that.
There is no dialogue possible when one side is armed with information and facts, and the other side insists on a fossilized, delusional narrative.
I believe that even if our friends were aware of the scores of corruptions of science, it would not make a difference.
That's because so-called climate change is the new Socialism.
And many Democrats have morphed into Socialists.
Marx also claimed that his work was scientific, beyond reproach. His theories of the withering of the state and the fall of capitalism were and are advanced as "inevitable."
Marxism/Lennism is nothing less than a fanatic, religious cult.
And so-called climate change is the opiate of the new Socialists.
This new leftist hysteria--remember The Population Bomb and Global Freezing--is designed to alarm citizens--that's why Osama bin Laden recently jumped on the climate change bandwagon--grow government, redistribute wealth, and create a new politburo of climate bureacrats who will dictate every detail of how we live our lives.
These are brown shirts in green.
There was a point not long ago where I wanted to empathize with leftists, to believe that they were well intentioned, that their hearts were in the right place but that their heads had yet to follow.
It's getting tougher and tougher to adopt that sense of good will.
The fact that Obama said the following isn't helping:
Okay. Well, let me just talk about -- this is -- when the conservatives have their conventions and they yell at me and say how terrible I am -- (laughter) -- along with health care this is the other thing that they usually point out, which is that "the President wants to create this cap and trade system and it's going to be a job killer and it's one more step in the government takeover of the American economy." So this is a good place for me to maybe just spend a little time talking about energy and climate change.
First of all, we just got five feet of snow in Washington and so everybody is like -- a lot of the people who are opponents of climate change, they say, see, look at that, there's all this snow on the ground, this doesn't mean anything. I want to just be clear that the science of climate change doesn't mean that every place is getting warmer; it means the planet as a whole is getting warmer. But what it may mean is, for example, Vancouver, which is supposed to be getting snow during the Olympics, suddenly is at 55 degrees, and Dallas suddenly is getting seven inches of snow.
The idea is, is that as the planet as a whole gets warmer, you start seeing changing weather patterns, and that creates more violent storm systems, more unpredictable weather. So any single place might end up being warmer; another place might end up being a little bit cooler; there might end up being more precipitation in the air, more monsoons, more hurricanes, more tornadoes, more drought in some places, floods in other places.
So I just -- that's one aspect of the science that I think everybody should understand.
I think everybody ought to also understand that much of the 'science' is predicated on false data being promoted as fact by hacks with an agenda.
Obama being chief amongst them.

Exactly, now if Obama wants to be scientific on this issue he needs to say this when there's a nasty hurricane or heat wave. If Obama wants to be even more scientific he needs to state that even if there is real global warming, it's not necessary caused by human generated greenhouse gases, that historical and scientific evidence show the Earth's climate is cyclical on many time scales.
What's telling is that Obama stops being "scientific" as soon as doing so undermines AGW. Someone needs to let Obama know that one sided science is junk science, and the American public are not buying the junk science anymore.

Lost in all the Chicken Little bullshit about AGW, it seems to have escaped public notice that ice cap measurements began in 1979.
Basing a major global scientific conclusion on only 30 years of hystery is patently ridiculous. If you want to base major economic change on ice measurements, as most of the True Believers do, even these statistics put the lie to the conclusion we're all supposed to reach. Icecap measurements in 2009 were larger, not smaller than previous years in the Arctic, and significantly larger in the Antarctic.
How you extrapolate 30 years of data to draw conclusions about global climate change is an exercise in idiocy. The only "science" involved is POLITICAL science.
The same holds true for polar bear populations. Polar bears have survived for many thousands of years, through warm spells and cold spells, and they still thrive today. Draw what conclusions you will about AGW, but leave the polar bears out of it. They're doing just fine, thank yew. It's a specious argument.
When you hear somebody arguing about the warmest or the coldest anything "ever", ask them how long "ever" is. The next election cycle? 30 years? 100 years? or 30 billion years? That's what "ever" means, and that's a sure sign you're dealing with a fool.

See any of these stories in television news after two decades of relentless press coverage of Global Warming with no questions asked? The national media's continued silence on ClimateGate and increasing revelations of outright fraud and wrongdoing at all levels of government, academia and the media itself, tells the truth of the tail. That truth is there's a lot more to this ClimateGate story than what little is being reported. The small (2 to 3 dozen) international cabal of climate scientists could not have possibly gotten to this point without extraordinary funding, political support at virtually all levels of government, especially at the national level and unparalleled cooperation from the national and world media. This wide-spread networked support continues even as we-the-people puzzle over what this is all about. I ask you, "What are you seeing and hearing from our national media on the subject?" Anything? What are you seeing and hearing from all levels of our government, local and regional newspapers and media outlets? Anything of substance? At all of these levels the chatter has remained remarkably quite on the subject, wouldn't you say? Why? What points and positions are you beginning to hear on the radio and see on the television? This cabal of scientists has an unprecedented level of support given the revelations contained in the emails, documented in the computer software code and elaborated in the associated programmer remarks (REM) within the code. And ---- this has gone on for years, AND continues even in the presence of the most damning evidence one could imagine, or even hope for. Watergate pales in comparison, given the trillions of dollars in carbon offset taxes, cap & trade fees hanging in the balance and the unimaginable political control over people's lives this all implies. The mainstream media's conspiracy of silence proves the point. Their continued cover-up is as much a part of this crime as the actual scientific fraud. ABC, CBS and NBC are simply co-conspirators exercising their 5th Amendment rights.

My dept. here in Durham (U., UK) is looking at the Antarctic situation, ice mass here might be increasing (this is something the IPCC does not get into)-this (converse anti-pole response) is a typical situation in the Quaternary (geological time, last 1.8 my, see Peter Huybers Ph.D. Thesis also, he is now at Harvard Earth Sciences), and might reflect complexities of Thermo-Haline Circulation. Just another pattern (amongst others) most credibly explained after natural, NOT anthropogenic vectors. Thus in reference to the sea-level comment, increased ice formation in the Antarctic might lower sea-levels for the next (guess) two decades.
