Blatant hypocrisy

Well this is probably the final coffin nail for Sarah Palin. Americans will tolerate many things from their leaders, but hypocrisy is not one of them. And now Sarah Palin has been exposed as a blatant hypocrite on the matter of health care reform.

Despite her vocal opposition to Obamacare, we now learn that at some point between Sarah Palin's birth and seventh birthday - i.e. "the 60's" - her parents shockingly made the decision to take her brother to Canada for emergency care. Canada. Gobsmacked doesn't suffice. Transmogrified scarcely scratches the surface. I am dunderschtupped.

What was she thinking? Vocally stirring up opposition to the affordable, practical, well-thought-out health care reform efforts of Obama, Pelosi, and Reid when she knew, FREAKING KNEW FOR A FACT, that her parents had at one time availed themselves of the nascent single-payer health care system in Canada? Unfreakingbelievable.

Sarah Palin's inelegance and hypocrisy are even more galling when contrasted with Barack Obama. The way he has masterfully rolled out health care reform while remaining 100% true to the lofty pragmatic centrist platform on which he sold himself to the American people will have historians whispering in hushed tones long after Sarah Palin has gone back to her igloo.

You know at this point I wouldn't be surprised to see Sarah Palin reveal that despite her stated belief America should enforce its immigration policy, she always loved taco night best when she was a little girl.

Well, Michael...so socialized medicine didn't come to the Yukon unti 1972?

Let's do the math. Sarah Palin just turned 46, and this is 2010. 2010 minus 46 years is..1964...

So she would have been..hmm...8...in 1972?

WTH are you blathering on about? Sarah Palin is a hypocrite because of something her parents did when she was 7? Moronic.

And not a fact or a link to support this claim or the reasons why a parent might take a child from the backwoods of Alaska to a more populated Canada to seek medical care.

Ahem:

1. Whitehorse (Yukon) did not have nationalised health care until 1972

2. Skagway is a tiny town...surrounded by vast expanses of forest...and no national highway.

3. Whitehorse is the nearest city with adequate health care.

FYI

Palin's father said Monday they had little choice, given their location in Skagway.

"There was no road out of there at that time," said retired teacher Chuck Heath, reached by phone in Wasilla. "The ferry schedule was very erratic. We had no doctor in Skagway. The plane schedule was very erratic. The winds dictated whether the planes could come in or not."

Palin's health care history, even when she was a child, is of interest because of her criticism of Obama and other Democrats working on U.S. health care.

Palin has been a frequent critic of big government and socialized health care, a seeming contradiction for someone whose family once took advantage of it in Whitehorse.

Palin in August called Obama's health plan "downright evil" in a Facebook posting and said he would create a "death panel" that would deny care to the neediest Americans. Democrats including Obama have dismissed that as a distortion.

Palin's father said his family probably boarded the train for the Whitehorse hospital only twice - once when a daughter had rheumatic fever, and once when his son, also named Chuck, severely burned his leg and an infection set in.

"We much preferred to use our facilities because my insurance didn't cover anything in Whitehorse. And even though they have socialized medicine, I still had to pay the bill, being an American citizen," Heath said.

Yes it should have been seen as obvious sarcasm especially with the extra lines like the taco comment. Unfortunately the left are so far out there that there are many of times you think they have to be joking when they are not. This opens one up in taking seriously comments someone means in jest.
