Via Drudge, Phyllis Schlafly has stripped the only remaining fig leaf from which Democrat Bart Stupak (D-MI) has hidden his hypocrisy on the abortion issue. Schlafly, a long time critic of abortion and expert on the issue of women's rights spares no words in her evisceration of Bart Stupak and the long held myth that a politician can be both pro life and a Democrat.
WASHINGTON, March 21 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Phyllis Schlafly, president and founder of the conservative grassroots public policy organization Eagle Forum, made the following remarks after the public announcement that formerly pro-life Democrat Bart Stupak (D-MI) will cast a "yes" vote for the Senate health care bill today in the House:"It is naive for any elected official, especially one who describes himself as 'pro-life,' to expect that a promise to issue an Executive Order that reasserts the intentions of the Hyde Amendment will be fulfilled by the most pro-abortion president to ever sit in the White House. Perhaps Mr. Stupak and his fellow pro-life Democrats forget that President Obama's first Executive Order was the repeal of the Mexico City Policy to allow for international funding of abortion."
"Not only would an Executive Order be rendered meaningless in the face of Congress passing legislation which actively provides for the massive expansion and funding of abortion services, but anyone who doubts the abortion tsunami which awaits this bill becoming law lives in a fantasy world."
"Barack Obama has lined every existing federal agency with the most dedicated pro-abortion ideologues, and we know that he will continue this pattern of pro-abortion appointments when it comes time for him to fill the over-100 bureaucracies created to administer his socialized health care program."
"Any formerly pro-life Democrat who casts a 'Yes' vote for this Senate health care bill tonight will be forever remembered as being among the deciding votes which facilitated the largest expansion of abortion services since Roe v. Wade."
"Mr. Stupak and his Democrat followers have now clarified that you cannot be pro-life and be a Democrat. If abortion was truly their biggest issue, they wouldn't willfully align themselves with the Party of Death."
"This vote will expose the myth of the 'pro-life Democrat.' With this single vote, the Democratic Party will divide our nation into the Party of Death and the Party of Life, and future elections will never be the same."
A long time pro life activist who was Phi Beta Kappa at Washington University in St. Louis and afterward obtained an MA from Radcliffe and a J. D. from Washington University, Schlafly has been a frequent critic of abortion rights advocates. Her piercing analysis of the feminist Left and its pro abortion fanaticism no doubt leave many of her opponents seething. (Google it if you doubt it.) Yet her message still resonates.

Considering BHO considers a baby to be a "punishment" it is reasonable that he would push abortion payments on all taxpayers. He has no conscience. What a disgraceful administration we now have. I pray all these good patriotic people who some refer to as "teabaggers" continue fighting to keep our country from falling even further into oblivion.

Phyllis certainly didn't mince any words did she? And it was a coincidence that the Transportation Administration just awarded over $750K for airport renovations in Stupid's area.

The next week is going to be really interesting. So far Barry and Company indicate the whole thing is going to be a walk in the park.
Wait until they start introducing legislation to fund all their committees and panels, as well as additional funds for the IRS to hire 16,000 employees.
Wonder if Barry will count those as "Jobs Created"?

Just a thought about 'immediate impacts'. Anyone betting that private insurance companies will be writing ANY new policies? Can't force a company to sell to someone with a 'pre-existing condition' if they're not selling TO ANYONE.
As for those liberal with private insurance policies, standby, your rates are going up. Just ask the nice people in Massachusetts what happened when RomneyCare got passed.

Stupak planned this all along, as the video from his Townhall meeting last year demonstrates (unaware of the camera phone videoing him, he declared he would vote for the bill with abortion funding as long as his anti-funding amendment was allowed to come to a vote), and has been playing the pro-life movement for suckers.
No one is stupid enough to believe an Executive Order can countermand a provision in law - that would amount to a "line item veto," which the courts have repeatedly ruled against. Bush Administration lawyers did a lot of legal work on the concept (trying to apply the Hyde Amendment to other areas), and couldn't find a way which would pass constitutional muster. Can't be done.

Good old Phyllis. Staunch defender of rape within marriage; a career lawyer who thinks (other) women should be chained to the kitchen sink; opponent of gay rights, despite having a homosexual son (two of them, in fact, if Andy's obsessions on Conservapedia are anything to go by...).
She's mad, bad and a hypocrite to boot. I thought you didn't like hypocrites around here..?

As for 'gay rights', where are those spelled out? Sorry, but each week SOMEONE finds a new "right" that they have. So if you could point to a link I'd appreciate it.
