If a crime was committed than a police report must exist. Sometimes justice takes time. While I do not have a concealed weapons permit, I do carry pepper spray and know where to strike a body to do he most damage. I intend to attend a tea party at the state capitol tomorrow. Peacefully, I hope but prepared to fight. Freedom is not free.

If it is shown to be true that this couple was targeted for a violent attack because they were wearing Palin pins, then you can be sure that Palin will make an issue of it, and because the media is obsessed with Palin the story will get legs.

I actually hope this isn't true, I truly hope our country doesn't desend to this level. Having said that if it is true then I would expect every liberal to stand up and DENOUNCE this behavior in the strongest terms possible, or be stuck with it as acceptable level of discourse in political discussion. What's good for the goose.... if 1 racist in a crowd of tea partiers makes them all racist (or as Lee likes to claim 20% racist) then the same applies to this bunch.

I'll give you a hint, the current Governor of Georgia, Sonny Perdue, is the first member of his party to become governor since the 1870's. Yet Jim Crow laws, segregation, and racism thrived in Georgia while some other party controlled the State's Executive, Legislative, and Judicial Branches and overwhelmingly controlled Georgia's federal delegation. This pattern of control is seen in all of the Southern states.

I am the photographer for the LA GOP and I was at the Brennan fundraiser. When I left about one hour or so after all 3 of the governors left the crowd of protesters had grown. The were very nasty, signs were vulgar using the "F" word. As I left the restaurant I was yelled at - there was a family visiting the restaurant with a baby stroller - they had nothing to do with the fundraiser and they were being heckled using the "F" and "MF" words.. A couple of them made comments to me.

The press ad the left can hide their heads in the sand on this one. They have been spoiling for violence for weeks now. I think their hope was to incite some conservatives to step over the line. Instead they have provoked the lunatic left into just being what they normally are.

The left has been consumed by their own racisim. They believe in the inferiority of the minorities so much that their policies reflect their opinion. They cannot succeed without whites help. The reason no one is picking up the story, however, is because the most provocative parts of it are not true. The woman, Allee Bautsch, was badly beaten Friday night. But she was not wearing a Palin pin, and the circumstances that provoked the violence are unclear.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal's office told me emphatically Tuesday afternoon that Bautsch, whose leg was "badly broken" in the beating, was not wearing a Palin pin, and neither was her boyfriend, who suffered a concussion, as well as a fractured nose and jaw.

And while Bautsch and her boyfriend were leaving a Republican fundraiser that was being protested, reportedly by anarchists, the statement from Jindal's office says they are "not aware of any evidence that the individuals involved in the altercation were protesters."

The story is still developing. But the verifiable facts available so far do NOT paint a pretty picture:

A Republican official and her beau, upon leaving a GOP event targeted by some very unsavory sorts of your political bent and temperament, were savagely beaten and hospitalized.

To jump to any conclusions would be ridiculous. Which is why I'm not surprised that you're coming down foursquare on the "it was nothing political" side, without a shred of evidence to support an alternate theory.

I'm angry as hell over this, because the circumstantial evidence is that this WAS a political beatdown, a "hate crime" if you will. And it's entirely in character with the way the liberals have been treating the GOP and the Tea Party movement all along.

I BELIEVE that this was a politically-motivated crime, carried out by nutjob leftists egged on by the mainstream left who have fired up such fear and loathing of the right that such things are all too predictable.

I don't recall if it was the time a Democrat let Code Pink in to disrupt Bush's State of the Union address, the time a Democrat let Code Pink into a Congressional hearing to assault Secretary of State Rice, the time union thugs beat down a black man at a Tea Party rally, the time a union thug bit off a man's finger at a health care "reform" protest, the time a Democratic operative for Martha Coakley (on loan from the DNC) knocked a reporter into a wrought-iron fence for asking a question, or any of a bunch of other incidents, but I stopped calling them coincidences a while ago.

The facts of this will emerge. I am comfortable in presuming how things really went down.

But unlike you, Mr. Ward, I am not getting all absolute about what happened. And unlike you, Mr. Ward, I will not bury this piece or never visit upon this topic again.

This story got me furious. I've lost some of the immediacy of my anger, but not the intensity. I intend to follow this story for future developments, and I intend to post on them.

It's "minor" because it is irrelevant. A high-profile Republican event ($10K a plate) was known to be taking place, and a crowd of protesters went there after visiting other sites connected to the SRLC. As to them being "anarchists," that's what is said of WTO/WMF protesters, too - which party's faithful joins in those protests and supports them?

Or we can assume a random group of thugs happened upon the event as it was happening, and decided to join in the fun. It requires a suspension of belief, but no greater than Lee must enter every morning before looking himself in the mirror.

Lee reminds me of the joke about the hunter and the bear.

Four friends go hunting bear up in Canada in big, black bear country. Three of them are pretty experienced and one is a real newbie, but really keen to bag a bear. All the way up in the car, and then the bush plane he can't stop talking about how he's going to bag a bear.

They all get to camp and turn in for the night. Next morning really early the newbie grabs a 30-30 that his friends have fixed him up with and heads out to hunt bear.

Not far from camp he comes across a huge black male, who takes one look at him and charges. He fires but the bear keeps coming. When he reaches the shooter he stops, rears up and says, "You've made me mad, but I'm going to give you a choice. Either I tear off your head or I let you live and I have my way with you."
