Of late, there's been a rise in both political violence and in talk of political violence. But what is especially challenging is reconciling the two -- as they seem to bear very little resemblence to each other.
In Arizona, there was a protest about their new illegal alien law where those opposed to the measure rioted.
In Los Angeles, Neo-Nazis held a rally... where they were confronted by Neo-Communists, who attacked the Nazis and drove them off.
In Georgia, a white supremacist was murdered, and police have charged his black neighbor.
(Yes, in those last two cases, it's hard to have much sympathy for the victims, but even assholes like those have the rights to not be assaulted or killed.)
And let's not forget Kenneth Gladney, the black protesters beaten down by union thugs at a Democrat's "town meeting," and William Rice, who had a fingertip bitten off by a MoveOn.Org member at a health care protest.
But if you listen to the mainstream media or the left (but I repeat myself), all the concerns about violence is about those evil, racist raaaaacist, xenophobic, simple-minded teabaggers.
You know -- the same folks whose gatherings are practically welcomed by local police because, not only are they exceptionally well-behaved, they often leave their gathering areas cleaner than they found them.
Listening to the mainstream media and the left (again, I repeat myself), I am reminded of listening to the eternal whine of the bully, or the domestic abuser.
"Look what you made me do!"
They are obsessing over the "potential" violence of the Tea Parties, while utterly ignoring the very real violence already going on.
Some times, the abused partner in the relationship finds the strength to leave their abuser and escape the situation.
Other times, they find other options.
I fear that some day some Tea Party protester or sympathizer will get fed up with the bullshit accusations and fear-mongering and decide that "if that's what they want, let's give them what they want. And if they think that we've been bad so far, they ain't seen NOTHING yet."
I don't think that it's an overly likely possibility. But it's not impossible.
And mainstream media/the left?
Your crying wolf ain't helpful.

The left has all the self control of a bunch of spoiled children. They want what they want when they want it - they don't give a damn how much it costs, and they'll lash out at anyone who tells them that they can't have what they want.
So naturally they blame everyone ELSE for what THEY do. Because it's not their fault, everyone else is just being mean!

The Tea Party Patriots are not cut from the same cloth as Obama's supporters such as the ex-hippie-communists, "anarchists", etc. It's possible that some individual, or small group of individuals, may do something-- hell the Obama regime/dino-media are hoping for and encouraging just that, but the only way the movement as a whole will turn violent is if the government draws first blood.
It's unlikely that this will happen before the November elections and after that the Obama regime will be a powerless lame duck anyway so violence will not be necessary. If, through some remarkable chain of events, the Democrats/Obama regime/dino-media do hold power through the November election then all bets are off. We might find out why the Dems created a private military force for Obama in the health care takeover bill and it might become very clear to even the most clueless college student what the "fundamental transformation" is really all about.
But that's very unlikely. This is America and we can resolve this peacefully and our side would prefer that this is resolved peacefully. That doesn't mean I think it's a bad idea to stock up on food and ammo, though, just in case.

Well unfortunately being nice, polite and perpetually BENDING OVER for the radical left has netted conservatives--i.e., actual Americans--damned little but sore behinds and a Marxist in the White House. Perhaps several million people carrying Colts will finally lead to the reclamation of our nation and rights. If you remember, no one was assaulted or had a finger bitten off at the well publicized town hall which featured a number of armed Americans.

My thought exactly, SYB - always looking for Daddy to give them everything they want, which they'll discard in short order for the golden ticket.
Where's Willy Wonka when you need him? (The Gene Wilder version, not the Jonny Depp one, though he was pretty decent too...)
