If science can be used to 'prove' man-made global warming, could it not be used to 'prove' that men need to become more like women?
It is telling that scientists are so thoroughly steeped in knee-jerk male bashing that they do not even ask whether there might be something positive about having less oxytocin. Why do they take it for granted that male biochemistry is intrinsically maladaptive? Why do they assume that masculine behavior is something like an illness, something to be compared with the kind of social withdrawal they see in autism and schizophrenia? Why do they consider it something that requires treatment?
Why indeed. Read the whole thing and understand that the need for the wussification of culture is yet more settled science.
Love what was found in the comments to the post:
If the scientists were to administer oxytocin to men on a wide basis, they could be assured their culture would soon be conquered by normal men from another.
Or radical men who see these men to be weak. Oh wait... that's already happening.
H/T Glenn.

Since scientists routinely fall into the 'liberal' category, it's no wonder their are fully behind metrosexualization for every man.
That way they won't feel inferior.

There are those who use science to enlighten themselves and those who use it to push an agenda. Unfortunately the ones who get the press are those pushing a liberal agenda.

I fail to comprehend how anyone could have read the original article and then come to the conclusion that all the world's scientists are attempting to feminize the world's men.
Professor Kendrick said the oxytocin spray may prove to be useful in people with conditions associated with reduced social approachability and social withdrawal, such as schizophrenia.
And other researchers are already looking at its potential use in autism.
"The bottom line is it improved the ability of people to learn when they had positive feedback and that is pretty important because this might help improve the effectiveness of behavioural therapy or even be useful in people with learning difficulties."
You did read the original article, didn't you, Rick?
Seems to me that that some bloggers are so thoroughly steeped in knee-jerk science bashing that they do not even ask whether there might be something positive about researching the effects of a hormone like oxytocin.

The good psychoanalyst turned life-, executive- and business- coach is pulling an interesting adaptation of cognitive behavioral therapy and renaming it (so it perhaps is more branded to him?) in his professional life, which is associated in the blog in which he wrote this critique. While there certainly are strains of femi-Nazi culture in the social sciences, he's making stuff up saying the folks publishing the studies with oxytocin are trying to feminize men in general. I suspect he's hoping that the blog traffic will increase his business.

Anyone who has been in a room with a pregnant woman on an oxytocin drip would be amazed to hear it called the "cuddle hormone."

I suspect you've hit the nail right on the head there. And given the knee-jerk anti-science comments on his blog (from people who've failed to either read, or understand the story he's writing about), it might just work!
Rather than getting outraged at scientists conducting actual science, Rick, maybe you should be turning your righteous anger on the pseudo-scientist who's attacking the real scientists for his own dubious ends?

Scientist trying to feminize men in our society today makes perfect sense.
The Nazi were obsessed with race and possessing certain racial characteristics that they believed made one human better and more intelligent then the other.
Today, Leftist elites (Cultural Marxist) who hold power all throughout the academic world and other institutions in western societies, are obsessed with gender equality and homosexuals being accepted. They realize that as long as men have higher testosterone levels then women and women have mostly estrogen, men and women can never have true equality. This is why male masculinity is attacked in our society today. Feminized men will be more accepting of homosexuals as well. If you think the Nazi experiments are over.... think again. People in power still have agendas they wish to implement.
Liberal social scientist want to feminize men so men will be more like women, while women become more like men. Switching roles is what the left is all about. In the 21 century, women will dominate everything. Women will be the bread winners, while men bake cookies all day and take care of the kids.
