Is Obama guilty of fostering a coup attempt in Israel?

Bookworm is asking the question:

Am I suffering from historical amnesia, or is this the first time in American history that an administration has made a coup attempt against an ally?

The administration of President Barack Obama has launched what officials termed a psychological warfare campaign meant to topple Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

Sources in the Obama Administration and the US Congress have confirmed to the Middle East Newsline that the White House and State Department have sought to destabilize Netanyahu's government by forcing him to agree to an indefinite freeze on Jewish construction in areas taken by Israel in the wake of the 1967 war as well as the establishment of a Palestinian state by 2012. They said the campaign sought to replace Netanyahu with opposition leader and former foreign minister Tsipi Livni.

Couple that with all the bowing and kowtowing to thugs and dictators and you have a President that is leading this country down an unprecedented path.

It's not the hope and change I think people were voting for.

So the real change Obama is trying to effect in the middle east is to destabilize our best ally in the area, Israel. This while his first summit on entrepreneurship was with Muslims in the middle east just last week.

The Brits better be careful with their upcoming election. No telling what Obama will do if Labor is not reelected.

Nobody stated that he was forced into a freeze, just that Obama's regime "sought to destabilize Netanyahu's government by forcing him to agree to an indefinite freeze."

I can give you some pretty explicit examples to mull upon if you still don't understand the difference here.

Quoting only part of a sentence and then saying it's a lie (especially when it's right in front of everyone to see) is blatantly dishonest.

The whole sentence is: "Sources in the Obama Administration and the US Congress have confirmed to the Middle East Newsline that the White House and State Department have sought to destabilize Netanyahu's government by forcing him to agree to an indefinite freeze on Jewish construction in areas taken by Israel in the wake of the 1967 war as well as the establishment of a Palestinian state by 2012."

When Obama took office, our two strongest allies were Israel and Great Britain. Starting with his cheesy gift to the Queen and the rude return of the Churchill bust, and now meddling with the stability of the Israeli government, Obama just leaves me speechless.

What kind of a president insults his allies, sucks up to his enemies, and then volunters the blessings of disarmament at the same time? In the middle of two wars and a belligerent lunatic in Iran about to go nuclear?

I can only wonder what his agenda really is. This seems to go way beyond mere incompetence. Whatever it is, it's completely at odds with any other president's foreign policy in my lifetime.
