Anyway, if you're going to play the odds, if someone is from Portland and speaks English poorly or not at all, the strongest likelihood is they're Sudanese or Somali.

Let's see... the picture shows the guy taken from the bus was black. It also says that Immigration and a translator were brought in. I shouldn't mention that the bus is from an area with a sizable refugee community from the Sudan and Somalia? But that's not the subject of the post. The subject is the bus and the possible bomb on it.

In writing the story you couldn't help but make up a fact - that the suspect was an African.

You then proceed to spend more than half the article trying to reinforce in your reader's mind that the suspect is African -- when there was no factual basis to make that assumption.

But in your mind, you couldn't escape your preconceived invention that this was an African with a bomb. BOOOOga booga booga - look, a black man trying to blow up white America!

Was it Jay? Was the man a refugee from Sarahan Africa?
