Maybe it is because liberals have not yet figured out a way to blame Dick Cheney for it -- I don't know why, but for whatever reason the flooding in Tennessee has not gotten as much media attention as it deserves. If you have seen the heartbreaking pictures from Nashville you know the people there need help. Noel Sheppard and Michelle Malkin have posted links to organizations providing relief to the flood victims in Tennessee, including a telethon airing tonight on WSMV-TV featuring Vince Gill, Keith Urban and others. Follow the links to help if you can and please keep the people of Tennessee in your prayers.

Yeah, I noticed that Fox News was pretty quiet on this subject. The only coverage I've seen was on CNN.
And of course the BP oil disaster and the Times Square bomber have been grabbing headlines for days - that may have had something to do with it too. Maybe....

Tennessee? Isn't that one of the those places you fly over when you go from Washington to Los Angeles?
It's not a media circus, because it doesn't fit into the agenda they are trying to push - class conflict, Americans are racists, etc. In fact since it's mostly a bunch of Southern white people, I am sure CNN/MSNBC/etc, assume they are all racists anyway, and deserve it. Rural white people are one of the few "groups" to which the normal PC rules don't apply.

Maybe it was a Tea Partier who flooded the city, Lee... like it was a Tea Partier who set the bomb in Times Square. Wasn't that your argument?

Ahhh Lee, deflection, deflection....
I was responding to YOUR inane and inaccurate assertion that Fox wasn't reporting the disaster as much as your vaunted CNN. Is the disaster as a whole under-reported? Absolutely, even taking into consideration the other two major stories currently consuming cable news, the Tennessee disasters are absolutely under-reported.

"I was responding to YOUR inane and inaccurate assertion that Fox wasn't reporting the disaster as much as your vaunted CNN."
And by showing that CNN and Fox had covered the story equally you proved that Lorie was wrong in her smear that the liberal media wasn't giving voice to this story "because liberals have not yet figured out a way to blame Dick Cheney for it".
And I thanked you for that. Let me say it again - thanks for proving Lorie wrong. Liberal CNN has done just as much as conservative Fox -- you said so.
Yes, the liberal and conservative media have both given the story equal treatment. Both have under-reported the story.
And of course this news was buried in the shadow of the Times Square bomber and the BP oil spill.
Now that the news cycle is turning away from those two stories it's a good time to push this story to the front page.
Too bad some people want to make doing so a political football, but there are a few conservative hacks who can't open their mouths without spewing their hatred towards liberals... even when they are trying to do something good like help out the folks in TN.

I generally ignore Lee Ward since he has lied about me more times than I can remember, but I am going to address his "argument" that because CNN and Fox have given the story similar coverage that I am wrong in my "smear" about the liberal media not paying the story much attention. Forgive me for pointing out the obvious, but...
Fox is not ALL of conservative media so saying a CNN/Fox comparison proves my "smear" wrong doesn't really hold up. Since no one watches CNN anyway (except those held hostage at airports and in hospitals) I have not seen their coverage. If they have given the flood significant coverage then I applaud them. Conservative media consists of more than just Fox News and such outlets as the right blogosphere, Twitter community and many conservative talk radio stations have given attention to the flooding. The places I have seen the coverage noticeably less prominent than coverage of recent similar events has been on the liberal shows people actually watch, such as Today, Good Morning America, etc.
I agree that the story has been under reported everywhere -- in conservative and liberal outlets. My point is that if there had been a blame Dick Cheney angle the story would likely have gotten a good bit more attention than it has thus far in the liberal media.
As for my comment being a "smear" it isn't, it is a fact that quite a few people on the left have tried to blame the oil spill on Cheney. That is where the smear is -- lefties attempting to smear Cheney. I could never have come up with that one on my own.
I think 20 people have perished in Tennessee as a result of the floods and a major US city is under water (including the Grand Ole Opry). I know there were other stories to report, but come on, you know that if those hurting were blaming Bush they would be getting a lot more coverage. I have not seen a conservative equivalent of Kanye accusing Obama of hating Red Staters since twenty of them have been allowed to die in the flood waters. Maybe that is the difference -- those on the right are not as quick to make outrageous accusations of racism against their opponents as those on the left are. The examples of Kanye during Katrina, and now lefties blaming Cheney for the oil spill, are examples of politicizing a tragedy, not me pointing out that they are doing it.

You're entitled to your wacko conspiracy theories, Lorie.
And I've done is show that conservative media has been equally lax in covering this story... Fox has been lax as well, just as much as CNN has.
So if I was a leftist with wacko conspiracy theories I'd guess that Fox hasn't covered the story as much as they would have it there was a way to blame Obama...
