Have the courage of your convictions Mr. President and rescind the federal law:
A top Department of Homeland Security official reportedly said his agency will not necessarily process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona authorities.
John Morton, assistant secretary of homeland security for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, made the comment during a meeting on Wednesday with the editorial board of the Chicago Tribune, the newspaper reports.
"I don't think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution," Morton told the newspaper.
The best way to reduce illegal immigration is through a comprehensive federal approach, he said, and not a patchwork of state laws.
The law, which criminalizes being in the state illegally and requires authorities to check suspects for immigration status, is not "good government," Morton said.
In response to Morton's comments, DHS officials said President Obama has ordered the Department of Justice to examine the civil rights and other implications of the law.
"That review will inform the government's actions going forward," DHS spokesman Matt Chandler told Fox News on Friday.
To hell with all that... put your money where your mouth is President Obama... begin the process now to rescind the racist federal law... let's see how the American people react to that...
Do it now sir. Unite the country and rescind the Federal law.

Just how many "studies" are going on in the Obama Administration? And how long have politicians been 'studying immigration reform'? 1985? Remember 'There will be no more amnesty, we're going to secure our borders!'?
Every day I have more respect for prostitutes as compared to politicians. At least the prostitute is honest about what she does.

Let's see...
We've got a federal law, which isn't enforced.
Arizona passes a state law, darn near verbatim of the Federal law, with the intention of enforcing it.
The folks managing the federal law say that the state law isn't needed because there's a federal law that covers the problem.
They then say that they won't process anyone apprehended under state law because the federal law supersedes it.
The federal law, for which there seems to be no desire or intention to actually do anything about enforcing, will be - at some unspecified future point - reviewed for reform.
And they're not going to enforce the federal law which already exists because it's under review for reform.
Did I miss anything?
Is this another wonderful example of APPEARING to do something, while actually getting nothing done at all?
As I've said before, this is the problem I have with the left. There's no incentive to solve problems - they exist to LOOK like they're taking care of very important issues while doing pretty much nothing to actually remedy anything.

So far, this administration has excelled at 'appearing to do something'. Hell, they just restructured 1/6th of the US economy under the leadership of a guy who was screaming "pass it now!" No "study", no "reflection", PASS IT NOW!

It's an opportunity for them to say 'Oh, this is such a mess; we just have to 'reform' our immigration policy, which will include granting amnesty to tens of millions of illegals already here.'
That is the real goal.

I visit the grandkids about every two months in Arizona. It is NOT unusual to see BP and Az DPS units at the same traffic stop or to see a BP unit covering a city cop.
Despite what the bullshit artists in Washington say, the guys actually DOING THE WORK, do work together.
As for the RACIST! cops stopping 'every Hispanic looking person', anyone who says that has obviously never been to Arizona or has shit for brains. (Obama fills both of those categories). You can't swing a dead cat in Arizona without hitting a person 'who looks Hispanic'.

There's no way Obie will rescind the Federal immigration laws. To do so would mean Obie would not be voting 'Present!'
