Obama's National Security Council's counterterrorism and homeland security adviser John Brennan substantiates the notion that this administration is filled with idiots, dunces and ignoramuses:
Mr. Brennan told an audience at the Center for Strategic and International Studies that "we have seen individuals, including U.S. citizens, armed with their U.S. passports, travel easily to extremist safe havens and return to America, their deadly plans disrupted by coordinated intelligence and law enforcement."
Mr. Brennan spoke on the eve of the release by the Obama administration of a new National Security Strategy report.
The new strategy, according to Mr. Brennan, will continue the George W. Bush administration strategy of seeking to distinguish al Qaeda terrorism from the religion of Islam. Mr. Brennan specifically said the Obama administration would no longer use the terms "Islamist" and "jihadist" "because jihad is holy struggle, a legitimate tenet of Islam, meaning to purify oneself or one's community."
I do believe that hating Jews is also a tenet of Islam... and infidels... and women are but mere chattel who should have their genitals mutilated, should be covered from head to toe while in public, and are to be killed, to defend the family's honor, if they've been raped or sexually abused.
Oh... and peace... peace is also a tenet of Islam.
Someone turn out the lights on your way out of America.
It's over.
Blooming idiots have prevailed.

And so it goes in a world run by idiots who believe that everyone has some unalienable right to never be offended.
Some people need to grow up and get over the fact that tolerance means forgiving the asshats that offend you and not the reverse (sucking up to every victim group in the hopes that you never say or do anything to offend them).
The truth is that Jihad does mean the violent struggle against infidels and many islamists think they have an obligation to kill the rest of us. Hiding behind the words of the worlds sole moderate muslim, who claims it is just a spiritual struggle and a metaphor, does not change the fact that millions of muslims think that slitting your throat is a good idea.
Todays lib just wants to ignore the uncomfortable truth in order to free himself from the obligation of actually doing something about the evil that some people do.

Brennan just wants everyone to know that he's an intellectual. He knows the origins of jihad. Forget the CURRENT connotations of the word.
Hey Mr. Intellectual. There was a doctor once. He performed "medical experiments", his name was Josef Mengele.

Pointing out that the Obama administration is filled with "idiots, dunces and ignoramuses" truly is an insult to idiots, dunces and ignoramuses.
As for Brennan, his head is so far ensconced up his own arse he'd need a Roto-Rooter treatment to be able to see reality.

Having watched Brennan speak on TV before, he comes across like one of those "experts" they used to hire to give us locals some education. (Expert - guy from out of town, wears a suit, carries a brief case, charges lots of money). Anyway it wasn't usual to run across someone like Brennan, spouting off, trying to show how erudite he was. Typically you came away, having learned nothing new or useful.
One guy started a lecture and intoned something about the word 'discipline' which had it's roots in 'learning'.....well a guy nearby lowered his head and said under his breath 'bullshit artist'. Well several heard him and we began to snicker. Ever have a time when your doing that trying to stop and trying not to laugh louder...and you can't help it....and it's spreading?
It was a very short presentation.

Islam was founded in violence, spread by violence, maintained by violence.
The history is clear, but it's not history which threatens us: it is islam today. Today in "mainstream" Saudi Arabia, women who leave their homes without a male relative in escort, even to run to the corner market for food, or who insufficiently cover themselves in the eyes of the purists, are beaten by the "religious police." The same for men suspected of shaving their beards.
In Iran and Pakistan and elsewhere, a woman who is raped may be stoned to death for "adultery." In north African muslim areas and elsewhere, pubescent girls are subjected to clitorectomy, without anesthesia and usually without sterile instruments, left to bleed and die or become infected, often scarred for life, solely to diminish their sex drives.
In Iran, thieves may have their hands cut off. In Afghanistan before the US and NATO took control, girls' schools were regularly bombed or burned to the ground.
"Honor" killings of daughters or wives who defied strict islamic laws have even reached the United States and Canada. The disease is spreading.
These are not "cultural or theological differences" we should respect. These are evil acts of barbarism which we, as civilized human beings, should abhor, condemn, and STOP.
Those who practice such horrific pagan traditions are not "men of peace," but bloodthirsty criminals to be hunted down like rabid dogs in the name of their past and future victims.
If there is a "religion of peace" to be found here, or some theoretical "moderate islam" which does not conform to its own scriptures and traditions, let it assert itself now. Let it cleanse itself and humanity of the murderous thugs who have risen to dominate it.
Let them act NOW and show us the peace of islam.
The silence of the lambs is deafening.
If the muslims cannot control the barbarians in their own house, then we must act before they bloody our own - again.

Let's look at the Mormons. They held a religious belief that polygamy was okay. The rest of the nation said "No, it's not".
Pretty presumptuous of a NATION to tell a religious group something like that.
As Jim Addison points out, there are "objectionable" aspects of Islam. GOD FORBID WE TELL THEM THAT!
So why was it okay to call out the Mormons, but not Muslims?
