LIMA, Peru - A young Dutchman previously arrested in the 2005 disappearance of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway in Aruba is the prime suspect in the weekend killing of a Peruvian woman, police said Wednesday..Joran van der Sloot is being sought for Sunday's death of 21-year-old Stephany Flores in a Lima hotel, police Gen. Cesar Guardia said at a news conference. He said the suspect crossed into Chile the next day by bus.
The killing occurred exactly five years after the May 30, 2005, disappearance of Holloway in Aruba, a Dutch Caribbean island. Prosecutors said van der Sloot is still their main suspect in the case even though he had to be released for lack of evidence.
The victim's father, circus empresario and former race car driver Ricardo Flores, said his daughter dropped off some girlfriends at 2:35 a.m. then apparently returned to the casino. She and van der Sloot were seen entering the hotel room about 5 a.m. and the Dutchman departed alone about four hours later, the police general said.
Maybe this time they'll lock this sociopath up and throw away the keys...

He has since committed suicide? Anyways, as much news as the Holloway case involved, I would not be surprised to find out that someone was trying to frame him. There is much hate out there for this guy.

Maybe they won't have to. There's an unconfirmed report floating around that he was found dead, apparently suicide.

This time there is a body and lots of physical/forensic evidence. Even if the Holloway case had been prosecuted in the US, it would have been hard to convict without a body or witnesses to the crime. This time, thank goodness, Joran is unlikely to escape prosecution and conviction.

Dude, I've read that the room was rented in his name and he was seen leaving the room. Is he trying to frame himself?

But, there is also a part of me that calls out for a reenactment of the final scene from Brave Heart.

My guess is the suicide story is a diversion while the perp tries to get out of the country. If he can bribe his way to the Antilles, he will be under Dutch jurisdiction again, and we saw how diligently they investigated Natalie Holloway's disappearance.
The one who most deserves to be flogged to death is his father, who advised him to get rid of the body in Natalie's case, and enabled him to go on to kill again.

In any event, if he gets caught in Chile or in Peru then he's toast. Peruvians and Chileans subscribe to old-school justice, which obviously is what this kid needs to have done to him.

Maybe the Peruvian authorities will get him to tell what he did with Natalie Holloway's body. Her parents deserve that much.

I agree with Mag. I bet this criminal killed a young woman on the anniversary of the Holloway slaying. He just got caught this time.
I have had the opportunity to go to Aruba but I passed. If a country does not view murder as a serious crime, then I have no need for them. ww

I'm curious about the coincidence that 5 years to the day after Natalie Holloway disappears another girl is found dead around this guy. There must be something about that date.
Is that date special to him?
Did he get set up and is getting a message because of that date?
The authorities ought to look at where this guy has been on every May 30.

News Flash!
The United States Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama charged Joran Van der Sloot Thursday afternoon with extortion and wire fraud, saying the Dutchman promised information on Natalee Holloway's whereabouts in exchange for $250,000, reports CBS News affiliate WHNT in Huntsville, Ala.
