Things have deteriorated to... (Below threshold)1. Posted by Jim Addison | June 25, 2010 2:09 AM | Score: 9 (11 votes cast)
Things have deteriorated to the point where it is no longer shocking to hear what idiotic thing some elected official has uttered. It's more of a surprise when they say something remotely intelligent.
And that's just the Republicans.
Being a complete raving moron seems to have become a prerequisite for Democratic candidates in recent years. I suppose they are serving their constituents' vital need to be fed stupidity constantly, so they can continue to vote Democratic.

Sometimes they say stupid ignorant things at other times...
...they let the cat out of the bag.
Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) says "we will see more Republicans getting elected" if the Congress does not pass campaign finance disclosure reform.
Thanks for being honest.
Asshole.

Rep. KKK-anjorski is just continuing his tradition of being the House's only honest Democrat. Thanks for telling us what you really believe, Paul.

I'm not sure why anybody would believe any beneficial claim by the Democrats regarding any legislation they enact. The fact is that almost every single time they pass this type of legislation, it never fulfills their good intentions when they passed it, but always manages to result in unforseen (by them, anyway) consequences and usually does more harm to the intended beneficiaries than if they had done nothing.
The stimulus that did not stimulate anything but the budget deficit and the national debt.
The health care reform that will have staggering budget costs, increase costs of insurance to everybody, increase costs to business, negatively impact the economy and reduce the quality and availability of health care for all.
I could go on and on, but do I really need to?

"No one will know until this is actually in place how it works," said a teary-eyed Sen. Christopher Dodd, who as chairman of the Senate Banking Committee led the financial reform effort in the Senate.
Maybe you'd have a clue "how it works" if you had read the goddamn bill! (I guess they had to pass it so we could see what's in it.) One thing we can be certain of, if the Congress messes with it, it becomes a big clusterf*ck.

Probably the saddest irony is that of the blacks and other racial minorities in Kanjorski's district, who deign to vote this Nov., upwards of 90% of them will vote to re-elect him.

My take is that Kanjorski thinks he is playing to conservatives with that argument - which makes him ignorant as well as racist. But then the two do tend to go together.

Actually Highlander, he's pandering to his base, Democrats and hardly conservative.
Looked at the demographics of his district lately?
How about his voting record and floor speeches?
Didn't think so.
It may interest you to note that his seat is one of many that can go Republican this November, especially if he continues making speeches like that one, not his first either.
